Ward M. Merdes

I was in a car wreck caused by another driver. The other driver's insurance almost immediately offered me a settlement amount for personal injury contingent on me signing that I would not sue or make any future claims. I called Merdes Law Office, gave all the information about the accident to his sta...ff member. Within about 15 minutes Ward Merdes called me. He had reviewed everything, accident report, photos, my statement, insurance documents, etc. He was quite straight forward. He told me to jot some notes, and told me just exactly how he thought I should handle my case. (And he felt that I would most likely be able to handle it myself without paying for an attorney!) About a week after our first telephone conversation, he called me just to follow up and see how I was doing. He said I should call him with any questions that come up and he would not charge me for any of this. Having a bad wreck is shock enough without having to struggle with legal and insurance questions on my own. He's helpful, kind, and knowledgeable, and I am very grateful that he offered to help me.

The most straight shooting no-BS lawyer you can find in Alaska. I've dealt with Ward and his wife Lorie over the course of 6 years after a car accident that resulted in a rough surgery and recovery. I finally found a lawyer that really wanted to help me, and did. After I got into an accident, I asked a friend if he knew a good lawyer. He recommended Ward. Ward had helped his daughter and grandkids after they got into an accident. It sounded like he did well for them. I thought I would give him a... try. I called Ward and told him about my accident and very shortly after that I was in his office telling my story. After hearing about my accident, Ward explained what he could do for me and wasn’t worried one bit about going against the insurance company to help me. I’m pretty ignorant about the legal system and sometimes Ward talked pretty fast but that’s because he knows what he’s talking about. I could stop him anytime and have him explain things if I needed him to. Ward also has a good staff that is always very helpful and very professional. Whenever I called or went to his office, I always got good, prompt help. Ward was always there for me. If he happened to be in court or unavailable when I called or stopped by, his wife or staff would usually answer my questions. If they couldn’t answer them, Ward would call me very soon after with the answers. Everyone in the office was there for me. Ward went above and beyond any other lawyer I’ve had. He really went the extra mile to help me (the little guy) and it worked out very well. He provided copies of everything for my files. I would recommend Ward to help you. He genuinely cares. He’s not a blood thirsty, money grubbing lawyer. He’s one of the few good ones around. You’re the man, Ward.

Ward and his team went above and beyond to help my husband and I. We had never been in a accident let alone dealt with insurance Companies in this situation. I had been in a car wreck that led to a neck fusion and shoulder surgery. The person that caused the wreck was uninsured, underage, and the vehicle not even his.
