Not worth the price.

I hired Ben for a DUI case. The officer that pulled me over made up his story of why he even pulled me over. He didn't have any evidence in the case. It basically came down to his word against mine. I worked with Ben for a whole year on my case because I didn't want to settle and take the deal of r...educing my DUI to Neg1. I had a perfectly clean record. I took the case all the way to trial. The case went into a mistrial because of the officers attorney. Once that happened Ben seemed to of given up, and didn't want to work on my case anymore. He also seemed like he was more concerned in protecting the officers reputation than mine because the office had been on the force for 20 years. After the mistrial he basically tried scare tactics to have me take the plea deal, saying they can press other charges against me if I didn't take the deal and if tried to go to trial again. After all of that time I ended up taking the plea deal for a Neg1 because I was running out of money to keep paying for the all of the court and lawyer fees. Any $1,000 lawyer could of done what he did. I spent $4,000+ with Ben thinking that he would have everything dropped like we talked about during the whole process. Now I'm stuck with that Negligent 1 on my record forever.

First, I have never, and will never, guarantee any particular result in a case. It is unethical to do so. In fact, I emphasize that whenever a client signs their fee agreement. Second, a conviction for Neg 1 reduced from a DUI can be vacated assuming other conditions are met. Third, there is always risk involved with going to trial. Since this review is anonymous, I cannot address the specifics of this case, including the facts as alleged in the review. I can say that, generally speaking, a DUI reduced to a Neg 1 is a good resolution, and it is not a persuasive tactic to accuse an officer "on the force for 20 years" of lying without specific evidence to show that. Ultimately, it is my job to represent a person to the best of my ability, provide advice, and allow the client to make an informed decision. I always strive to maintain an open dialogue with my clients. I'd be more than happy to discuss this case with my former client if he or she desires. My reputation is important to me, and I stand behind the work I do and the advice I give.

Awesome Attorney

Ben is a smart young attorney that will do great things in his career. He was extremely responsive through phone calls, email and text messaging. When I text him, he would always answer. He kept me calm through the preliminary court stuff. He was informative about my choices and didn't push to be ...settle for less than I wanted. When I decided I wanted to go through a jury trial for my case, he was excited and did a great job. He is just competitive enough to push people but not so competitive to piss people off. I won my case and would highly recommend him to people.

Knowledgeable, Friendly & Professional Lawyer

After being arrested for a DUI, I was scared and embarrassed. Ben was professional, helpful, and never judgmental. Even when I thought I should give up on the case and take the charges given, Ben encouraged me to stay the course and allow him to handle the negotiations with the prosecuting attorney.... Ultimately, the DUI charge (with a BAC over 0.15) was reduced to a reckless driving charge saving me money and preventing me from having a restricted license for 12 months. Ben is knowledgeable about the process and very helpful in all steps of navigating through a DUI charge. I highly recommend contacting Ben immediately if you are charged with a DUI, even if you think your case can't be redeemed.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
