Very Knowledgeable

I highly recommend James Wriston. James was very easy to talk to, is very knowledgeable about family law and put my worries at ease. I consulted James for a possible parenting plan modification brought on by my ex. James did a great job explaining the law and what I can expect/not expect. My stress... level went from 10 to a 2. I will definitely refer back to James in the future. Thank you!

A Blessing in the Knick of Time

I was given James’s contact info through a friend of a friend. When I called him he did not mind and listened to issue as if he cared. We were having tenant/landlord issues. Our landlord was being unreasonable after changing the course of direction on a lease transfer. James listened to all the infor...mation and asked relevant questions. We needed one additional day to move out after having a short time frame to find housing and the landlord was threatening legal action without claiming what that action would be. We are in the middle of the COVID pandemic and there are eviction moritoriums in place both federally and state wise that I was educating myself on but wasn’t 100% sure if I was covered by. And regardless, I was asking for 1 day extra to move out, of which I had agreed the carpet people and whoever else needed to have access could, plus would be willing to pay a prorated amount for. James contacted the landlord to negotiate the pay for the additional day and to remind him what my rights were currently. The landlord put an eviction notice on my door on the 31st of July and I was 100% moved out on the 1st of August, which was the plan the entire time. What I didn’t know was that landlord was going to come and try to force me out that night but because James contacted him, he contacted his own attorney and realized he could not, so instead he put the eviction notice up. James was a blessing to us at just the right time. He stayed in contact with me and was available just in case I needed him on the day of the move. I couldn’t be more impressed. I would recommend James 100%.

REAL ESTATE BROKER

Have consulted several times with James on real estate transactions concerning arbitration, legal issues & addendum preparation that is out of my expertise as a Broker. James was very knowledgeable and quick to respond when working within a contractual timeline situation. I have also referred him to m...y clients for Family Estate Planning. I highly recommend him and will use him in the future when needed. Judy Matz/Coldwell Banker Bain

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
