Miranda Baner

I found Baner & Baner Dec of 2011. I had just taken my son from his grandparents he had been living with since he was two weeks old, that June. I ran into all sorts of road blocks trying to provide for him without any legal rights to him. Miranda and her husband helped me file the paternity test to e...stablish my rights and begin the parenting plan (that's what they call custody in WA) process. It was unsettling for my son's mom that I wanted everything on paper and that Derrick would live with me 24/7/365. She refused to sign, made arguments and excuses for many things, but Mrs. Baner kept me floored and focused on what we were doing. A year of a mental and emotional rollercoaster and the judge granted me everything I asked for. My son is turning 8 next month and I've raised him alone for five and a half years. My love for him has change his mother's perceptions too. She now understands I was never attacking her; I only wanted Derrick to be with a parent. Time gave way for love, compassion, and mutual respect, and all that was facilitated by the Baners. Words alone will never convey my gratitude. Entering a custody dispute is a highly stressful time. Miranda was the only person who could give me any ideas of what to expect from all of it and she kept me on track. She cares about families and I never got the impression that I was just a job to her. She was also a great mediator for a time w...hen tact over aggression is key in dealing with friction between parties.
