My experience with Matt Stanley was nothing but pleasant and comfortable.
I was in a horrible business State Tax mess, I was excessively scared of the unknown. To me, the variables were endless. All of the scenarios were dim to dark. Not sure of anything, I called Matt. I left a voicemail, and he called me back that same day. When we spoke, I was very nervous. I addressed him as Mr. Stanley. He abruptly stopped me and used my name, "Rose, call me Matt." I felt comfortable enough to discuss what was going on even though I was terrified of the words that were coming out of my mouth. He invited me to his office to discuss in further detail my concerns and issues and see if he could even help me. From there, he devised a plan to get information from me and others, so he could help my situation. This enabled me to help myself and focus on working through the bad stuff, getting it behind me so I could put my energy into what I loved. My business.
I'm not sure where I would be if Matt wasn't there to help me through this process.
I got a reasonable solution to something I felt certain that I would lose everything I have. Throughout the process (which took many months) Matt would call and check on me. I was always scared to answer the phone in case it was bad news. No, it was just this man calling to see how I was doing and ask if I was following his instructions, advice and check on any progress made. I felt much more like a friend than just a client. He was always positive, and knew how to calm me down when I was upset and scared. This is a person I would go to coffee or lunch with!
If you are having tax issues, I urge you to talk to this man. He will be very honest, treat you with respect, and work hard to get the best possible outcome for your situation.
Thank you, Matt.
Kindly, in gratitude,

Matt Stanley represented us during an IRS subpoena process for unpaid taxes, and is helping us through the process of an Offer in Compromise. Matt is exactly the man you want representing you with the IRS. Matt Stanley is professional, courteous and confident. When the IRS agent contacting us was threatening or tried scare tactics, Matt remained calm and cool, and quoted relevant portions of the tax code to the agent to get him to back down. When our meetings with the IRS were over, Matt reassured us that everything was ok, and outlined exactly why it was ok. A lot of the IRS process involves a lot of waiting for their response; Matt has always been available for us to answer any questions, or concerns we had during these long waits. We highly recommend Matt Stanley to anyone dealing with the IRS on any tax issue: he is not only professional and knowledgeable, but he becomes a friend and ally when you need one the most. We interviewed many attorneys before we made our choice. It was the best choice!
