Approved 12/22/25 for SSDI after 4 years I can't thank David Oliver and his staff enough!! I seriously doubt I wouldve ever been approved. He and his staff are so helpful and kind (thanks Robyn for always answering my emails quickly, I know there were many. And David, I know you are very busy but ...you always got back quickly as well. 5 stars, highly recommend using his office:-) I've lived in WA state my whole life. Worked continuously from age 16 to 42. Was a nurse (LPN) from 2003-January 2022. Same job for 14 years. In 2018 the asthma I'd had since age 7 downgraded to severe persistent eosinophilic type. Between 2018 and now I've had 18 bouts of pneumonia, multiple ER Visits and a lengthy ICU stay. Maxed out on asthma meds. On 3 daily inhalers, on prednisone every other month, use a nebulizer every 3-4 hrs about 2 weeks per month. In counseling as my depression and anxiety worsened as my health did. On 2 antidepressants and anxiety meds. I was fired from my allergy nurse job on 1/31/22 for some bs reasons because they couldn't say they were firing me for missing too many days. I initially filed for SSDI in February 2022. Denied in August 2022. Spoke to David Oliver (disability lawyer) recommended by my neighbor and reapplied in October 2022. Denied again in March 2023. He appealed and I finally had my hearing before a judge in Kentucky via phone on 11/26/25. It went well. The occupational expert recommended jobs like mail room and other jobs that wouldn't pay close to what I made as a nurse. The judge kept questioning him asking if I could miss more than 3 days per month and keep my job, or take unscheduled breaks every 3 hrs for 30 min to do a nebulizer treatment. Occupational guy said no each time. My lawyer was concerned as the judge was known to only approve 30% of the hearings he presided over. I got the best Christmas gift finding out I was approved on 12/22/25:-) my back pay would start February 2022!! Received all the back pay on 1/1/26:-) SUCH A RELIEF after 3 years, 10 months, and 21 days!!! We are a family of 5 and I hadn't worked the entire time we were waiting. My husband was doing 50-60 hrs per week as a 911 dispatch supervisor. Thankfully we had his income.

I got rejected by 4+ SSI lawyers when I told them which judge I had been assigned (she had a very low rate of approving cases, like 6% or something). David, who I messaged on Avvo.com (highly recommend if you want to find a practice near you with reliable reviews) agreed to take me on and immediate...ly started working with me to hunt down every possible dr, psychiatrist, clinic etc that had ever treated me that could provide useful info to corroborate my case. Not everyone responded, but he and his team worked with what we could get and even through a couple supplementary hearings, he kept me in the loop and consulted with me prior to and after each hearing to go over what everything meant and how I should go forward. Obviously the fact that I won was based on my case itself, but I think his and his team's work was essential in presenting the argument properly and explaining my case to the judge. Responded to emails and calls readily (some other reviews are saying that he was slow, which I didn't feel was accurate but then again I do expect a few days delay when talking to a busy professional). He did ask me to leave a review after the case closed and I'm happy to say honestly that I would work with David and his team again. They did their best to respect my gender and preferred name while having to work with my legal name/gender status for the case, and were generally very professional and responsive. Over the past few months, I've felt like my case was in good hands. If you're on the fence, I would say that David Oliver & Associates is a very solid option that I have no reservations about recommending. Thanks David & team for all your hard work! I think it is safe to say that nobody ever wants to need a disability attorney, however; unfortunately, life and accidents happen. When I was faced with a life changing circumstance, and suddenly found myself in need of filing for long-term disability and SS benefits, I was overwhelmed. To be dealin...g with a new normal with countless doctor appointments, paperwork, and constant questionnaires, I was scared, frustrated and confused. I came to the realization that I needed support. Researching and hiring a lawyer was not a task that I took lightly. Choosing David Oliver was the BEST decision I ever made. David and his team were professional, reassuring, accessible, and direct.
