Wasted my time

I contacted Eric Gilman on August 4th, 2022 regarding a time-sensitive employment law matter, then spoke to him on the phone during the next week regarding some of the details and he requested that I send him all the relevant documentation in a PDF file. That was completed by 8/14/22. Although I requ...ested a reply that he had received the material, I then waited in vain for an email or call and heard nothing after leaving several voicemails. Finally I tried sending another email on 8/30/22, requesting an update and he immediately replied with a "notice of non-representation," saying that neither he nor any of his partners would be able to represent me and reminding me I may have a time limitation to file. Yeah, I was aware of that and he just wasted almost a month of that time, stringing me along and then not responding to my document email or followup phone calls! I do not recommend his or his firm's services.

I am sorry that you did not have a good experience. As your review indicates, you were never a client. Nonetheless, legal ethics rules prohibit me from disclosing the substance of our communications. As such, I cannot directly respond to you here, but am happy to address your concerns offline. I will say generally that my firm receives many inquiries from individuals seeking representation. We decline many of them, never dissuade callers from consulting other firms, and certainly never promise to represent everyone who receives a free case consultation. As before, I wish you luck in finding a satisfactory resolution to your legal issue.

Review of Eric Gilman

I engaged Eric Gilman to represent me in a complex construction litigation case. The basis for the case was a faulty construction product that created damages to my property. There were four parties involved in the defense side: the manufacturer, the distributor, the installer and the inspector who a...pproved the installation process at each step. None of the parties accepted responsibility and we were forced to go pretty far into litigation. The case was settled just weeks before trial after a successful mediation. I have been involved in several complex litigation cases over the past 30 years and very few attorneys took a personal interest in knowing the details of the case as well as I knew them. Eric understood the case far better than the defendants’ counsel which led to several good outcomes during the litigation. I have since stayed in touch with Eric and recommended him to several business owners and I will use him again if faced with similar litigation events.

Most Excellent

I contacted Beck, Chase & Gilman during a very rough time. I was lost, confused and under doctor’s care. I lost my job, my career! If you are reading this, most likely that is what is happening to you. You have come to the right place. Eric Gilman walked me through what needed to be done. The p...atience and understanding was what I needed and he provided. The communication was above par. The staff was wonderful and operated with the same set of objectives and professionalism. Desiree was great! Honesty is foremost; on both sides. You will learn what is actionable, what is not and then whether or not you really have a case. I decided to settle. Mr. Gilman has great negotiating skills and I am more than pleased with the results. So, ultimately, I cannot refer Beck, Chase & Gilman enough. I would use this firm for a lifetime!

Competence

Eric took over this case on short notice and reviewed many documents and offered suggestions and advice that was timely and brief. He did not waste his time or ours. He is personable, professional, courteous and efficient. In court he guided us well with concise suggestions. He treated everyone invol...ved with respect and consideration. He is a pleasure to know and we felt very well represented. Thank you

Thanks Eric

Eric did a fantastic job guiding us through our recent litigation.. His focus was always on the was on the facts of the case and the applicable law. He was thorough, although determined to minimize the time and money spent on litigation. Eric had an immediate grasp on the complexity of the case and h...ad a clear path for resolution. I was impressed with Eric's organization and technology skills, making our case a seamless presentation. As a first time defendant he did an excellent job informing me of the legal process and likely timelines. I can gladly say that our case was dismissed... which was due, in large part, to Eric's thoughtful and vigorous defense of our case. Thanks gain Eric for all your hard work and late nights!

"Eric is my "go to" litigator whenever I have a client who is exploring litigation or who has been made a defendant in a federal or state case. He's able to assess a case easily and communicate with clients in a very understandable, practical way. Just as importantly, he understands the law that underlies the issues in the case (whether business, intellectual property, or a range of other issues). As a transactional attorney, I really appreciate that he "speaks my language," and my clients appreciate that he speaks theirs. The biggest compliment I can give him, though, is that my clients--many of whom have worked with a number of different lawyers--specifically request that Eric work on their case. I am always happy to oblige, as I both trust his judgment and have the utmost confidence in his abilities."
