    20 years

I live in Tacoma, Washington with my wife and our daughters.  I grew Yakima, Washington on an apple and pear orchard.  My practices takes me all over the State of Washington.

I work on all types of personal injury cases including motor vehicle collisions, premises liability trip and fall incidents, product liability injuries, worksite and construction site injuries, and nursing home injuries.  I have a particular interest in cases involving recreational injuries.  I frequently work on cases involving skier/snowboarder collisions, injuries at gyms and healthclubs, injuries in the outdoors, scuba, mudruns, bicycle accidents, equestrian injuries, boating accidents, and swimming pool and waterslide injuries.  As an avid motorcyclist, I help create and launch Evergreen Motorcycle Attorneys where I work with motorcyclists injuried on the road.

I try to blend my passions outside of the office with the cases I frequently work on.  This experience helps me better understand how my clients were injuried and helps me better represent them. As a U.S. Coast Guard licensed captain with years of boating experience, I bring expertise and training to boating and watercraft injuries.  I am also certified scuba driver.  I bring years of experience and training to my cases involving injuries in the mountains and on the ski slopes.  I am certified by the American Avalanche Association at Level II Avalanche Processes and Leadership.  I am a former professional ski instructor where I was formerly certified at Level II by PSIA in the Rocky Mountain Division.  For my clients injured on two wheels while motorcycling, I bring years of experience as an avid motorcyclist having logged tens of thousands of miles on and off road.

I am actively involved in the bar association.  I recently served as 2020 President of the Tacoma Pierce County Bar Association.  I am currently serving as vice president of the Tacoma Pro Bono Board.  I have served on numerous committees and appointments.  I am frequent speaker at continuing legal education seminars involving personal injury topics.

When I'm not litigating injury cases for my clients, I love to spend time with my family out on the water, in the mountains skiing or riding off road motorcycles.
