also known as Sam Feinson, Samuel C. Feinson
After growing up in New Hampshire, I attended college in Montreal and graduated from Seattle University School of Law in 2012. Never one to settle down for too long, I have lived in five states, the District of Columbia, and three other countries. For the time being, though, I feel immensely lucky to call Port Townsend my home.
While I absolutely love to argue in (and out of) court, I am most passionate about working with clients. A lawyer has to be able to explain the legal system, to understand a client's goals, and to approach each problem with the client's interests at the forefront. This is a service industry, and I am proud of my ability to connect with the people I serve.
My first love is criminal defense, but I am also available to help people with family law and landlord-tenant issues.

Back in 2019 he beat my first felony charge easy. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a good reasonably priced attorney.

Hired Sam for a criminal defense case that was going to originally be held in front of a judge that is well known not to do dismissals of criminal cases. Needless to saw he was able to present my case in front of a different judge and case was dismissed. His upfront communication and the game plan...

We were leaving town for 3 months and needed to evict a tenant who was almost 4 months behind in rent and refused to leave. We had a consultation with Sam who besides being very savvy on tenant law is very personable so we hired him immediately and left town. Sam took care of the filing and court d...

Would have gotten a better outcome if I would have had a public defender. This guy will not defend you. Instead he will roll over and take the other side in my case and as others have stated below. Sam Feinson thru me under the bus to the prosecutor on a DWI case that the cops had no evidence period...
I work hard every day to make sure that my clients are fully informed about the strengths and weaknesses of their situations. Ultimately, it is a client's decision whether the risk and expense of trial is worth taking on. Criminal cases are never easy, and if this former client is unsatisfied with the risk assessment and case decisions we made together, it's unfortunate. Of course, I cannot comment on protected attorney-client communications, but I can confidently and truthfully say that I have never screamed or cursed at a client -- and I never will.

Sam responded to my inquiry (regarding a dispute I had with my landlord) within 24 hours, listened carefully, and saw that I had a case immediately. I sent him the documents he requested and within three weeks, justice was served.
"For as long as I've known Sam, he's been passionate about the defense of the accused. In my conversations with him, I've consistently been impressed not only by the depth of that passion, but the depth of his knowledge of areas of things like criminal procedure. If it were me accused of a crime in the Port Townsend area, I would reach out to Sam first."
"Sam is a remarkably gifted attorney whom I had the pleasure of supervising when he was still in law school. As an intern at a public defense firm, Sam impressed me with his keen grasp of legal issues, practical judgment, and courtroom skills. It is no surprise to me that Sam has become such a talented and dedicated advocate for his clients. I recommend him to anyone seeking highly competent legal advice and representation."
"I endorse this lawyer. I worked on a case with Mr. Feinson a couple years ago and was impressed with his understanding of the law, particularly at such a young age. I highly recommend him."
"I am proud to endorse Mr. Feinson in almost any area of law, and although he does impressive defense work I believe his business law work is far above the average lawyer in his community or any community. Furthermore, Mr. Feinson provides outstanding client service, and fair rates."
"I endorse Sam Feinson. Mr. Feinson and Mr. Faber are an asset to the community of Port Townsend. Both of these attorneys are professional and capable. They also provide a good value to any potential client. When I have clients who need an attorney in the Port Townsend area I refer Faber and Feinson."
"Sam is a phenomenally creative, diligent, and intellectually nimble defense attorney who works tirelessly to ensure his clients' rights are protected."
