Robert Joseph La Rocco

Retained Robert August 2012 for a simple bankruptcy. We did all our counseling stuff and went on front of the trustee in Sept 2012. Robert assured us it was complete. Find out in 2014 that it was not completed and started the epic run around with him for over two years. Saw him in September promising... he would have a date for us by October that never came. Finally consulted another attorney to find out that since August has sanctions against him preventing him from doing bankruptcies. He neglected to tell us anything knowing full well that he could not perform in the capacity he was hired for. He could have bloody told us rather than continue to string us along. He stopped his malpractice insurance Feb 2016 so suing him is not an option even though he's had $1000 of ours for over 4 years. Looks like small claims court is all we can do. We have filed a grievance with the Washington State Bar Association. [redact] if you'd like any information about it and/or add your name to it. Robert is a fraud of monumental proportions, plain and simple. Stay as far away from this guy as possible.

Robert went to my first hearing and called me to say it went "Horrible, Horrible. Horrible." He then told me that he would get an "Emergency Hearing" for the child support or at worst there was a 90 day review. Neither happened. At the "mediation" facts were misrepresented. When the draft came via em...ail I called to say it was not acceptable. 90 days later I sent Robert an E-mail detailing WHY as I had not heard from him. My Ex was telling me that my attorney hadn't been at any of the court dates or meetings, I was unaware of ANY court dates or meetings with the exception of the first. At the mediation Robert told me of several Judgements against me of which I was unaware. I called the umbrella group and complained. Robert called on a Friday to request the same documents I has sent the previous year and said he was on it. I complied and heard no more. I went to the Court house to get the "Do it yourself" child support modification and found that it was a permanent order, I also discovered that the final decree had been filed 6 months earlier, there were no signatures on the court copy, mine or Roberts, he apparently "waived" my right to appear. I again called the parent group. They explained that I had a responsibility to understand the papers, I told them I did, and had tasked Robert immediately upon receipt. So after a year and 4600 dollars I am divorced without having been to court, signed a final document, or had my wishes represented or explained why not. I was also told that Robert was not working on the modification as he had told me in a pleasant e-mail from Divorce Lawyers For Men. I understand losing a ruling, but I do not believe I was represented, or bare minimum representation without explanation. Result, no house, no retirement, bad visitation, and a pile of unnecessary debt. I would have been better off doing this myself. Probably a great tax lawyer
