failed to show up or notify me of court dates

Oct 2016 X spouse notified me that I did not show up for final divorce hearing. I contacted Robert to find out what was going on, the day after court. his last contact was we missed no court I will call you next week I have not heard from him since. 10,000.00 dollars later I am 100,000.00 in debt whi...ch should have been a 40,000 settlement to me but because the case was undisputed I was taken to the cleaners. I would not recommend this law firm to anyone for anything.

DO NOT GO TO HIM!

I had to pay upfront for his services. Which I didn't realize at the time was so he could have my money and take his time to do my business. Which was a non-contested divorce. After my ex and I both signed the paperwork and everything was a go he told me he had filed the paperwork with the courthouse... and the divorce was final. I looked online at the WA courts and there was no record of my divorce. I contacted the courthouse and they said there was no record of my divorce. I couldn't get a hold of Robert for weeks. It took 2 months for him to just turn the paperwork in for us and repeatedly lied to us about doing so. Before all the paperwork was filed he would ignore my phone calls and emails. It would take weeks to get a hold of him. I am warning you; do not go to him. He is inexpensive for a reason.

Surprise!!!

Robert went to my first hearing and called me to say it went "Horrible, Horrible. Horrible." He then told me that he would get an "Emergency Hearing" for the child support or at worst there was a 90 day review. Neither happened. At the "mediation" facts were misrepresented. When the draft came via em...ail I called to say it was not acceptable. 90 days later I sent Robert an E-mail detailing WHY as I had not heard from him. My Ex was telling me that my attorney hadn't been at any of the court dates or meetings, I was unaware of ANY court dates or meetings with the exception of the first. At the mediation Robert told me of several Judgements against me of which I was unaware. I called the umbrella group and complained. Robert called on a Friday to request the same documents I has sent the previous year and said he was on it. I complied and heard no more. I went to the Court house to get the "Do it yourself" child support modification and found that it was a permanent order, I also discovered that the final decree had been filed 6 months earlier, there were no signatures on the court copy, mine or Roberts, he apparently "waived" my right to appear. I again called the parent group. They explained that I had a responsibility to understand the papers, I told them I did, and had tasked Robert immediately upon receipt. So after a year and 4600 dollars I am divorced without having been to court, signed a final document, or had my wishes represented or explained why not. I was also told that Robert was not working on the modification as he had told me in a pleasant e-mail from Divorce Lawyers For Men. I understand losing a ruling, but I do not believe I was represented, or bare minimum representation without explanation. Result, no house, no retirement, bad visitation, and a pile of unnecessary debt. I would have been better off doing this myself. Probably a great tax lawyer

Pat settled his case at mediation, and personally signed off on the agreement that settled the case. He could just as easily have gone to trial, but he chose not to. The final orders reflect what he agreed to, nothing more and nothing less.

I'm so glad I found you!

I hired Robert after looking for an affordable lawyer, and I was running out of time: my trial was just two months away, and my spouse's attorney was a really aggressive person. I would have lost everything if it weren't for Robert! I'm so glad that I found him! At trial, I was impressed by his pa...ssion and his ability to cross-examine. He exposed the four witnesses lined up against me, and I got almost everything I wanted. The judge just didn't believe what the witnesses said against me. I got the real estate and 80% of the money we had saved. If I had found him earlier, and he could have prepared better, I would probably have done even better. Robert is very busy, and it shows, but he's really good and very passionate about his clients. I recommend him without hesitation.
