Description: Client charged with Minor in Possession of Alcohol (MIP) under RCW 66.44.270(2)(a). The crime of is a simple misdemeanor punishable up to 90 days in jail and a $1,000.00 fine. It could also carry a court-ordered alcohol evaluation, treatment and active probation. Even worse, an MIP conviction could have negatively impacted Client's future career endeavors. Despite the challenges, Mr. Ransom persuaded Prosecutor to dismiss the case if he obtained an alcohol/drug evaluation, followed its recommendations and performed 20 hours of community service.
