When you need a trustworthy and intelligent lawyer - you must consider Bern

Bernard "Bern" Haggerty is a warm, intelligent human being. He handled my domestic violence case. When I think about the person I am now compared to the person I was then it truly is the difference between night and day. I felt "broken" when a friend recommended Bern. It was me and my childre...n living in fear and I felt stuck. How do I heal? What is best for my children? He treated me with respect and when discussing the case Bern was clear about explaining the law to me. I now have custody of my children and we no longer live in fear. Instead of me and my family ending up as another sad statistic, I have been a college instructor for five years, and my children are doing very well and are successful in school. In many ways, I owe this to Bern because he treated me decently when I was down and hurting. Through his example of being a good person, a good man and a wonderful lawyer we had a second chance at life.

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
