rare gem in the world of attorneys

DDAdam Karp is a stand up guy, plain and simple. He is great at what he does and he truly cares about his work. I feel like so many lawyers will take any case just for the money, but not Mr. Karp, you can tell he cares about his cases and the outcomes. He exceeded my expectations and I came out on to...p against the odds. It was never hard to get a hold of him and he took the time to explain the process, terminology and possible outcomes. Not all of us are aware of our rights and anything court related can be confusing. I urge anyone who is in the middle of anything that could potentially put an animal at risk to get a lawyer RIGHT AWAY. I regret not hiring Adam sooner, as everything was a bit more difficult after I had tried to go at it myself. I just can't say enough positive things about Mr. Karp, sharing my experience is the least I can do.

Excellent Advice

I was referred to Adam by a lawyer who couldn't help me. I was told that I would not be able to get my dog back from the person who stole her without spending upwards of $5000. I was feeling completely helpless since no one could help me, not the police, not animal control, not other lawyers. Adam's ...knowledge in the area of Animal Law is excellent. He was confident that we could get my dog back and it would cost less than $1000. Emotionally it was very reassuring to have him on my side. He clearly cares about animals and his clients. He was always professional, punctual, knowledgeable and kind. He is mindful of cost and helps clients keep costs down by providing tiered rates for legal, paralegal and secretarial services. I highly recommend Adam, especially to those experiencing animal custody disputes.

Compassionate, strategic ... and successful!

When a beloved cat was mortally injured by a neighbor's pet on our own front porch we were quickly flung into a messy and traumatic situation. Adam brought great calm together with tremendous depth in the specialty of animal law--a subject we knew nothing about. With vet bills piling up--not to menti...on less-than-amiable feelings about the neighbor--it made all of the difference to benefit from his services. The matter was resolved fairly and relatively swiftly because of Adam, and we recommend him highly.

A let down

Mr. Karp was very slow to work on my case and sometimes forgot where we were in the case and what he had said about it. The reason he gave was that he had a lot of cases and not enough time. I think he said over 50. Bad when the attorney gets annoyed with the client for ideas. Really bad when the cli...ent has to remind the attorney that the ideas were the attorneys. Could live with it if I got something for all the money paid him, but I didn't.

I sincerely regret you had this negative experience, but it is certainly not typical, and as you have not identified yourself, I have no idea who you are and cannot strive to address your concerns in a constructive and satisfying fashion. I invite you to please contact me directly to make this right!

Do Not Recommend

I appreciated Adam's generally appropriate communication and interest in animal welfare, but in my opinion he is unusually money-orientated and serves his own interests. When you own multiple homes and acquire more than seventy thousand in representation from a client, before yielding any decent resu...lts, you are expected to at least read the evidence properly. More than money-minded, Adam is self-enamored with his “image” and about what people think of him, more than his client. He shared my private medical information with an unrelated group of people, among other errors. When this was pointed out to him, he said, “you’ve made your point, now move on”. He never apologized, would scan documents in minutes, and had to be reminded of court dates (once, hours before the deadline). His general reasoning was that he was very busy and had more than 70 clients, yet insisted on doing everything himself (and accumulating fees accordingly). He also made personal excuses for professional delays on several occasions (he asked to move a trial date that was hard to get because he wanted to practice for a party!). Adam also gave me, his client, a pet name, Blanca. There would be other names as well. When it came to billing, Adam was very prompt, he remembered every detail, and sent you an invoice each week.
