Doggy Defense in Spokane, WA

While walking my dogs on a leash in my own apartment complex, one of my dogs had to defend me and my other dog when another dog showed up without its owner and chased us into a corner, lunging at/provoking us. When the owners of the owner-less dog arrived, they brought another dog that got involved i...n the kerfuffle. When the local Animal Control (Spokane County Regional Animal Protection Service, or S.C.R.A.P.S. "SCRAPS") served me with a notice that my dog would be deemed Potentially Dangerous, and the label would stay with him unless I contested the charge. I did nothing wrong, and my dog did nothing wrong, so I was not going to let the system put a label on my dog, which would require extra steps I would have to take for the rest of my dogs life. No one in Spokane would help me. They only said they'd be able to help me if I was bit by another dog. I did some research and made a few calls around the state trying to find someone to help me, and a couple people suggested I contact Adam Karp. I contacted him and ended up hiring him. Although his office is on the west coast of Washington, and my animal court jurisdiction is on the opposite side of the state (the Idaho Side of the state), we were able to handle most of the case by e-mail, so I didn't have to pay the travel fee. He communicated concisely. He respected me and my time/money. He set clear expectations and delivered on his promises. I am so happy that my dog was NOT deemed Potentially Dangerous due to his defense. I would totally seek him out if I had another animal legal incident or question.

Adam is Brilliant and Compassionate

Adam assisted me with an issue with my dog. This would have been a first strike against my dog. Another strike would have had her removed from the city I was informed by Animal control. I have lived in my neighborhood for close to 20 years without incident or issues with my dogs. He took the stress o...ff of me, handled the whole issue and negotiated a settlement for my beloved dog. I can’t say enough kind or wonderful words about Adam. It’s clear he loves what he does, keeping animals with those who love them. I feel so fortunate to have had him recommended to me. Thank you Adam

We contacted Adam in February of 2019 after our dog was attacked for the second time by our neighbor's dogs. My wife and I were about ready to give up hope that anything could be done on our behalf against our neighbors and their vicious dogs. Neither animal control nor the local sheriff's department... would do anything meaningful and we became concerned not only for our safety but especially the safety of our small children. Adam helped us to recover thousands of dollars spent on vet bills and fencing materials after two separate attacks took place against our dog Louie, over a two year span. He worked diligently and professionally to orchestrate our lawsuit against our neighbors and the landlord they were renting from. While we weren't able to have the dogs removed (through no fault of Adam's), we were extremely pleased with his handling of our case and the results he achieved for us.
