Being charged with child abuse by prosecutors and then getting "Founded" of child abuse by CPS left me devastated to say the least. I had already hired a criminal defense attorney to address the assault charge I was being charged with. It was not until I had gotten a letter in the mail from CPS sayin...g that they "founded" me of child abuse that I then called my criminal defense attorney. My first time talking to Denise on the phone I was full of emotional trauma and had a lot to say about what had happened. Denise did not pass any judgement against me nor did she profile me as what I was being charged with. When we spoke about the facts of what had happened and that there was no intent and I was just playing with my non biological daughter which lead to an accident we then used everything we could to prove that what had happened was "truly" non intentional. Denise typed out a very professional, truthful and sincere declaration on my behalf and submitted mailed it into CPS for what we hoped would be over turned. As the months went by my criminal defense attorney had gotten a he assault charged dismissed and not too much longer after Denise had gotten the CPS matter over turned. When a 911 call for a medical emergency unexpectedly turned into an assault DV charge, I was thrown into a panic. I unfortunately had my third DUI that I was dealing with, with strict probation and courts in 2 different counties. Denice had her work cut out for her.
