Veronica is simply the best lawyer I have come across in the course of a prolonged and bitter divorce struggle that lasted almost three years. The facts were on our side, but as a foreign man with mental illness, and with the mother having custody, I felt that the prejudices of the system were again...st me at every turn. I originally found Veronica by the great reviews that she had on this site, what sealed the deal to hire her for drawing up a simple will and post-nup was that she was straight forward and straight up about costs. I soon learned she was more than that, she was an attorney that was attentive and had ...no concept of the time of day, she was on the ball regardless of it being after 9 pm, yes 9 pm, only a few hours after I emailed her thru AVVO is when she first emailed me back. It’s unfortunate that my story did not stop there. 2 years later I contacted her when I was blindsided by my now ex, who had conjured up a plan to try and steal my boys and try and get me sent back to Canada. Remember the Post-nup agreement I mentioned, that was what my ex was afraid of. How better to rid yourself of a financial burden of a stay at home mother, make her disappear but try keep the blood off your hands. My case ended up lasting over 14 months. We were in and out of court continually. We probably saw over 15 judges. Veronica was on top of it the whole way. My ex hired an extremely expensive law firm, benefits to this is they will do whatever you tell them to regardless of what they believe the outcome will be. My ex is DISTURBED, so you name it he was going to say it or try it, his attorneys had no problem following along. I never really understood the joke when people talked about how slimy lawyers are. Well I get it now. His female attorney, was perfect for him, she would lie and twist everything, just to try and win. In the end my ex basically got what I would have agreed to without attorneys, actually to tell you the truth he would have fared better if he wouldn’t have thought he was so clever. He basically got what we had offered before the year long fight, the difference is that he spent onwards and upwards of $300,000+ with his attorney, destroyed his reputation, lied to his family and friends, manipulated many innocent, unsuspecting people and most importantly, hurt and emotionally scarred the kids. I had a GREAT attorney who was there for me the whole way. She was always available. She did all her own trial preparation. It was an extremely difficult case to say the least. I ended up paying probably ¼ of what my ex paid his attorneys, if not less. And Veronica destroyed his lawyer in court. You could tell that his attorney relied on her paralegal staff to create her case. Veronica has this uncandid ability to recall information…well I’m sure her ability has a lot to do with her hard work & attentive nature. Veronica is a pit bull in court, she doesn’t let go till she draws blood, this is an attorney that you want on your side of the table. It’s obvious that she has a background in criminal law, now you may think that isn’t needed in family law, but hell yes it is. The criminal background gives her a different perspective than other family law case lawyers, this is a benefit no matter how easy or hard the case is turning out to be. Veronica’s staff are also very attentive and actually just awesome! The paralegal’s at V. Freitas law are reliable and fast to respond to questions or concerns. Veronica’s staff were not only there for me legally, but emotionally. Sometimes a person outside of the situation can give better clarity to an issue, I relied on Veronica and her great paralegals and office staff for this, they never disappointed me. This great group of people were there for me every step of the way, I will always consider them special friends. Just know that Veronica will never tell you what you want to hear, she will tell you what you need to hear and she will work her ass off for you.

Intensely capable, competent and reliable, Veronica joined near the end of a complex and emotional dissolution case that had already taken multiple years and generated boxes of paper. She immediately put her finger onto the most important points and at trial knew her facts cold. Cross examination w...as a real strength of hers and was probably pivotal in this case. I found her to have a wonderful temperament - both direct and compassionate in equal measure. In the end she managed to achieve justice in an uphill battle to win custody for a father (no easy feat!). Throughout she was very sensitive to keeping costs under control and staying on strategy. I cannot thank her enough.

I was searching for a divorce attorney and already interviewed with couple of them. I was not satisfied with any of them until I met with Veronica. The way I met Veronica was exactly like a movie seen. Here is how all happened: I met with my going to be ex husband six years ago. I gave up on my aca...demic carrier and decided to stay in America after we met. During our marriage I paid off his four credit card dept, sports car, $38 thousand second mortgage. He was debt free first time in his life and he got two promotion in his work and I was almost dying at the birth table, had a c section and etc.. He decided to cheat on me with a 10 year younger women which they met at the bus while his 11 months old baby and I visiting my relatives in other country. The story goes more dramatic but I don't want to bore you. One morning I served with exparte which I didn't even know what was it mean. I remember a huge stock of papers were saying return my baby to soon going to be my ex husband. Apparently his mother and his father wrote untruthful things about me so the person who was responsible at the court house was asking me to give my baby to him even though he didn't even have single over night with the baby. I was very scared and needed an attorney immediately so I search an attorney at the internet and found Veronica. She was not even working that day but told me that she would accept me in an hr if I don't mind her wearing sports clothes.. I told her of course it is ok, I am a personal trainer any way I think sweat pants was a good sign. When she opened the door and started talking about my case I already knew I was at the right place. She told me don't worry we are not going to give your baby to them. The court was 11 days later and my baby and I never slept even a night apart. She called the other attorney and told her to see her at the court tomorrow, we were not giving the baby. Other party immediately said well that's ok how about if the father sees the baby couple of hours some days until the court date. I was begging him to see his own kid day after day but he never did..Anyway Veronica has been fantastic. She is a fighter. She is brilliant can see so much different angels at once and defends you over the expectations. My sister, brother in law and my uncle are all attorneys in my country. I will say Verónica as an attorney is my favorite. She put me under her wings how to mother birds protect their babies from the wild. The funny part is my case is still going on and now my going to be my ex husband and I met for a civilized conversation first time after almost a year and he told me he hates his attorney. Even his attorney's hourly rate is lower than mine but apparently his total cost is twice as mine so far. I think Veronica's rate is very reasonable and worth it. I would recommend Veronica my eyes close.
