I hired this lawyer because I have a bench warrant for a pending stalking felony. Since I am not in the USA, I explained my situation to this lawyer on the phone; I was not an American and there was a bench warrant for me, bail amount is $150,000. After she understood my situation, she charged me $5000 and said she would first try to ask to lower my bail amount to 15,000 if possible. Later I found out there was an email the assigned attorney sent me which I didn't read because this assigned attorney had disappeared for 3 months. Then I told this lawyer what the assigned attorney sent me, she asked me to forward her the email, as well as all communications between me and the alleged victim. Then 2 months past, the lawyer told me I'd better put this matter behind me, and not go back to the USA, which the assigned attorney already told me previously. She seemed to have done with this matter. So I recently asked for how much refund I can get back. Because she charges me $5000 and nothing changed. She said she spent more than 15 hours on this matter, and no intent to refund anything, but when I asked her for the time records, she said she didn't have that, but she knew how much time she spent on it. But the funny part is I was her client, I was charged, and I didn't know how much time she spend on this matter. Shouldn't I ask for everything she did clearly stated on a sheet of paper. Shame she said that's for some crazy clients, or one who said the lawyer didn't do anything. Yes, to me, I really don't know what this lawyer has done for me to charge me $5000. Because everything remains the same. There was still a bench warrant for me, and a pending stalking felony. And my $5000 has gone.
P.S. I just notice this lawyer doesn't seem to have any experience on stalking.. Maybe I should have done more research before hiring a lawyer, but I think I am totally done with any lawyer.. No lawyer any more..

I was pulled over and booked for a DWI/DUI driving home on i5 around the shoreline area. I had been drinking earlier in the day but it had been a few hours since my last drink and I figured I was good to drive. Long story short, I was pulled over for "erratic lane manuevers" and blew above the legal limit. At the time I was confident with my roadside tests and was expecting to blow under- I ended up blowing a .137. After contacting Coleen the next day she did an excellent job listening to my case and providing 100% transparency in her advice. She didn't sugarcoat anything during the process and at first the chance for a reduction seemed bleak. After about 5-6 court dates of just pushing my trial back, we were finally ready to move forward and work with the prosecutor to have my dui lowered to a reckless driving. This particular prosecutor was willing to work with us and try to make a deal, unfortunately he was transfered to a different courthouse and we had to start over with building our case with the replacement prosecutor. Unlike the prior, this new prosecutor was not very willing to work with us to cut a deal and the scenario of having my dui lowered was looking even less likely. Unfettered with the new prosecutor's lack of cooperation, Coleen took matters into her own hand and wrote up a lengthy transcript for a high up supervisor in the courthouse. Coleen reviewed the dash cam footage prior to my stop and found inconsistencies that would be in our favor. The original stop from the officer who arrested me was very quick and suspect to say the least, and his police report was exaggerated compared to what the dash cam footage showed and what actually took place. Coleen included these inconsistencies in her write up, along with a copy of the video, and thankfully they did not fall on deaf ears. The superior of the prosecutor who was unwilling to work with us also agreed on these inconsistencies and offered a reduction of my dui to a reckless driving. Because of Coleen's determination and persistence in fighting for me, I was able to complete a few days of community service, pay a drastically lower fine, and ultimately not have a DUI on my record! I could not be more thankful for her work. To make her even greater, due to my financial situation and the fact the I was a student at UW at the time of my arrest, Coleen also provided me with a student discount on her rate. I had never had to deal with this kind of situation before, and hope I never have to again, but if I was going to hire a dui lawyer, my endorsement would strongly be for Coleen St. Claire.

I don not know how to even begin to describe my terrible situation. I was in a bad car accident which I was at fault. I was so scared and had no idea how to fix it. I called Coleen and thanks God I did. She is honest, frank and will tell how it is, but she will do anything in her power to resolve the situation which she did for me.
I highly recommend her.

Coleen went above and beyond for me. Her communication with me through the whole court process helped me get a better understanding of what to expect with each court date. She's always available to answer any questions I have and she has this innate ability to make people around her feel comfortable. She has a lot of experience and it definitely shows. Her wealth of knowledge helped me get a reduction in my DUI case and I am forever grateful to her. During one of the scariest times in my life, there's no one else I'd rather have represent me. Coleen is definitely a gem.

When I was arrested for my DUI, I was very scared and with the charges I was facing I knew I was in serious trouble. Our first call to Coleen was late on a Saturday night (by my mom while I sat in jail) and even though it was outside of “office hours” and she was home with her family, she took answered her phone and took the call. Coleen talked with my mom for almost an hour explaining what the charges were that I was facing, the seriousness of the trouble I was in and what all of my options were. Once I was released from jail and I called her myself (early on Sunday morning) she spent almost an hour explaining everything to me all over again and what my options were for the charges I was facing. When it came time for court, she drove all the way down to Kent for me (from Seattle) and fought hard to get me a deferred prosecution and avoid the jail time I was facing. Thanks to Coleen’s knowledge and professionalism, I was able to get my deferred prosecution and enter into a treatment program for some help.
Coleen truly is one of the best you will find. Her prices are very fair and she is available 24 hours a day. She will explain to you exactly what you are facing as far as what the charges and sentencing could be. She is very compassionate while remaining professional and personable all at the same time. The fact that she is a former prosecutor helps her with determining what an opposing prosecutor may be thinking and uses that knowledge to her clients’ benefit.
Coleen has stuck with me every step of the way always answering my questions and putting my concerns at ease. I know she is here if I need her and is willing to support and continue to fight for me. She is an attorney I would very confidently recommend to anyone.

I was arrested under suspicion of DUI and had my car in-pounded. I talked to three lawyers and studied my scary legal options. The first lawyer gave me bad advice that would have cost me money. The second blew me off would not talk over the phone without a formal meeting. I'm so glad I contacted Coleen.
I emailed her and she called me from her home. Later she took my call when she was busy.
Based on my information, she advised me that I should not be concerned with a Department of Licensing hearing. She advised me when to call the state and find out if my license was pending. It was not, as she suspected.
On the criminal side, she advised me who to call to find out if the Prosecutor would decline charges. They did. Hence, I won two legal battles without ever stepping into a court room.
In the end, she enabled me to gain priceless piece of mind knowing that my cases were cleared. She did not attempt try to scare me into hiring her like the first lawyer did. She did not advise me to pay for useless legal fees. She had my best interest in mind from the very start. All this over two phone calls.
Her experience, responsiveness and intimate knowledge of the King County and Snohomish County courts and judges make Coleen an exceptional DUI Defense lawyer. Her advise honest and timely. I would gladly recommend Coleen to my friends and family.

Our 16 year old son was being falsely accused of a serious offense that would have ruined his life. Ms. St. Clair had spent countless hours on our case to prove his innocence. With several court appearances and a large stack of evidence the other party didn't have a case and it was dismissed. If it wasn't for Colleen St. Clair's knowledge and professionalism my son would be paying a large price for a crime he didn't commit.

Called to ask about representation in a misdemeanor case, quoted a price that I could not afford but still gave me very good advice and was courteous to my needs and questions.

Several months ago I was pulled over for a DUI, never having had any encounters with the criminal justice system, I was so grateful I called St. Clair Law offices. It was such a scary stressful time and from the moment I called Coleen I knew I had made the right choice. I cannot begin to explain the amount of shame I felt surrounding my arrest and the fear of not knowing how i would get through it, but I did thanks to the work of St. Clair. She really came through for me, I ended up getting a reckless charge with minimal fees.It was short of a miracle what she accomplished! Through the entire process Coleen was there for me. She is not only an excellent attorney but an exceptional person. Thank you for helping me get through one of the hardest times in my life! I highly recommend Coleen St. Clair law offices.

Facing a DUI is one of the most scariest things I have had to face! Coleen had all the answers to questions I did not even know to ask from the first telephone conversation. Coleen gave me solid advice on all the little things one has to do when charged such as; the interlock device, drug and alcohol assessment. She is one of the most ethical and professional attorneys you can find. My chances of having my DUI reduced seemed impossible due to the high BAC. However, Coleen was able to get my charge dropped to a Reckless. I highly recommend Coleen.
