I was facing a felony charge for something I did not do. I I contacted Coleen immediately after getting arrested for a free consultation. We were faced with criminal charges brought against our 16 yr old son by an angry ex girlfriend. Coleen was amazing in meeting us and talking on the phone (talking us off the ledge basically). Anxious and helpless when I came to Coleen the last minute for my boyfriend's charge, trying to find the best solution for his case. Coleen was able to get back to me in a short period of time, she would not make you wait any longer than necessary. The case went sour due to the lack of efficient pr...esentation of prior attorneys. Coleen was very patient with me, once she started to listen to me and asked questions about the case, I felt eased off a lot. I was surprised how courteous and patient and professional she was; Coleen is very knowledgeable and she answered a lot of my questions, she really cared and she really wanted to help. I have had very bad experience talking to attorneys, a lot of them just care about how much money they can get even before they know if they can help you or not. Coleen spent more than an hour on the phone with me and listened very carefully and patiently, asking every details and getting every piece of of useful information she could gather to help me analyze the situation. After talking to Coleen, I felt that at least I tried and this lawyer was eager and willing to help and her fee is very reasonable. Due to lack of time, I couldn't retain Coleen and save the situation, my boyfriend ended up with a plea bargain. I hired this lawyer because I have a bench warrant for a pending stalking felony. Since I am not in the USA, I explained my situation to this lawyer on the phone; I was not an American and there was a bench warrant for me, bail amount is $150,000. After she understood my situation, she charged me $50...00 and said she would first try to ask to lower my bail amount to 15,000 if possible. Later I found out there was an email the assigned attorney sent me which I didn't read because this assigned attorney had disappeared for 3 months. Then I told this lawyer what the assigned attorney sent me, she asked me to forward her the email, as well as all communications between me and the alleged victim. Then 2 months past, the lawyer told me I'd better put this matter behind me, and not go back to the USA, which the assigned attorney already told me previously. She seemed to have done with this matter. So I recently asked for how much refund I can get back. Because she charges me $5000 and nothing changed. She said she spent more than 15 hours on this matter, and no intent to refund anything, but when I asked her for the time records, she said she didn't have that, but she knew how much time she spent on it. But the funny part is I was her client, I was charged, and I didn't know how much time she spend on this matter. Shouldn't I ask for everything she did clearly stated on a sheet of paper. Shame she said that's for some crazy clients, or one who said the lawyer didn't do anything. Yes, to me, I really don't know what this lawyer has done for me to charge me $5000. Because everything remains the same. There was still a bench warrant for me, and a pending stalking felony. And my $5000 has gone. P.S. I just notice this lawyer doesn't seem to have any experience on stalking.. Maybe I should have done more research before hiring a lawyer, but I think I am totally done with any lawyer.. No lawyer any more..
