I enjoy representing individuals and businesses involved in disputes.  I work with my clients so I can understand the facts and advise them of their legal rights and risks.  We work together to come up with a plan that makes economic and legal sense and then put that plan in place.

In 2002 Washington Law and Politics Magazine recognized me as a "Rising Star." 

I have handled cases in King, Snohomish, Pierce, Thurston, Grays Harbor and Grant County.


I recently completed a forty hour mediation skills training session and look forward to assisting parties, as a mediator, in resolving their disputes.

We had a good outcome from Joseph's review of our P&S agreement
Because of Joseph's responsiveness and ability to explain our options within our Purchase and Sale agreement, we were able to close rapidly on the sale of our family's property. I would recommend to anyone that you review your P&S with an attorney, but not just any attorney—go to Joseph Rockne and you'll be treated well with honesty and knowledge of the system.

Highly Recommended
Joe assisted in resolving a lengthy real estate dispute and I highly recommend him for his real estate expertise and integrity. His professionalism, knowledge of the law, and keeping the facts straight before both court and mediation was instrumental in a successful outcome for me. Broad depth of knowledge, very helpful
Joe has helped me in many ways, over several years and with several different properties. Specifically, in negotiating with the tenant, reviewing leases, fighting adverse possession and even reviewing a reverse mortgage, to start with. His input has helped me, and saved me some money. He has also assisted me by referring me to others for tasks like reviewing title history, and other legal transactions. He always keeps the facts of my properties correct, which is surprising to me as they are fairly complicated. I have referred several clients to him, as I have been very impressed.

I have been in the mortgage industry for over 23 years. Joe has handled my personal realestate transactions and those of my clients well. Adverse Possession Lawsuit
A neighbor sued for adverse possession after we removed and replaced a small fence back onto the correct property line. I brought the lawsuit to Joseph Rockne for help and advice and was immediately impressed with his knowledge and excellent counsel. He has kept on top of this lawsuit every step of the way. The case has not yet been settled, however I don't worry about it because I have full confidence he is protecting me and working toward the best possible outcome.

Excellent Counsel in Property Easement Dispute with Neighbour
I hired Jo to work on a complex issue with a neighbour who had utilities on my land and no formal easements due to a poor quality short plat by the person who sold each us us our houses. Jo was excellent. He was very experienced in real estate law, very respectful, kept me informed, provided clear explanations of my options, worked hard to resolve the issue prior to our final court date and eventually got all parties to attend mediation and agree a settlement, no small feat given the personalities involved. I highly recommend Jo and would hire him again.
