Posted by Ian | March 22, 2018 | Hired Attorney

This review is from a person who hired this attorney.

So glad i changed representation

I hired Sherrie at the beginning of my divorce, not knowing what standard of behaviour to expect. To be kind i would describe her as distracted, disorganized and unavailable. When I finally thought i had no other choice that to retain a new lawyer they asked for my file, they did not receive one as a...pparently she never kept a separate file for my case. She was very diligent with the billing though.

Disciplined TWICE by WA State Bar

I hired Goldberg & Jones for a divorce and was assigned Ms. Bennett. No mention was made of her prior disciplinary actions. I have tried working with her and the firm in good faith but continue to receive little or no communications and no improvement in performance. Raised ongoing issues with office... managing partners yet no improvement. Ms. Bennett saw fit to leave town on an extended trip without providing guidance on questions and open items over 7 days old. She left no guidance on contacts in her absence. Totally unacceptable. Given the WA State Bar sanctions against Ms. Bennett, it is clear the is a continuous pattern of disregard for her clients and the law. Very disappointed in Goldberg & Jones as well as Ms. Bennett. Will attempt to work with the firm to rectify, given that I have an ongoing case. Will absolutely NOT work with Ms. Bennett in any capacity.

If looking for a good STRONG attorney that's for your best interest, DON'T HIRE SHERRI BENNETT

Sherri doesn't intiate or do much as an attorney. I had to do a lot in which is what I thought I hired her for. If having to do over, hiring her would not be my choice. I believed I hired an attorney to take care of things, legally guide me and making sure everything was in my best interest. She adv...ised me of things only to find out later were things I didn't have to do or could do during my separation. When there are legal documents one would think it was her job to make sure all was correct and being my attorney looking out for my best interest. That wasn't the case with many things not implemented or timelines set that would have helped me greatly. To me that would be just common sense, but she never made sure of any of that. Those are just a few things in why someone hires an attorney. She missing or not questioning things now leaves me hanging in the wind having to still deal with many unresolved issues several months later. She clearly is not detailed oriented and just does the basics of her position and nothing more. It was obvious at no time did she debate the opposing attorney showing she was out for my welfare. If paying for an attorney to fight, defend and represent you through the toughest time of your life such as a divorce, Sherri Bennett is not the one for you as she wasn't for me. Good attorneys are self motivated doing what is necessary for their client. I had to always call checking on the status of things only to remind her of things needing to get done or take place. If looking for a strong, get the job done attorney I suggest KEEP LOOKING. You shouldn't have to question during your divorce process who's side your attorney is really on? It became a joke amoung many as who was Sherri Bennett representing really? Sherri would tell me to do no wrong, keep paying, keep giving to the ex, let the ex do what she wants no matter if that's maxing credit cards, financially draining the checkbook - just deposit more, just don't upset her or rock the boat and I will be rewarded for all my good behavior in the end and to trust her. Her telling me that was a joke. I literally in the end got screwed and with my clothes on. My ex on the other hand who throughout the process constantly did wrong, pushed every wrong button, didn't follow legal process or legal documents and came out with flying colors, not a scratch and won BIG only benefiting huge. I have to admit her attorney was very good as Sherri was worthless doing no good. Trust using this attorney may not be to your best interest. I am beginning to believe the line "good guys finish last" was designed for people that are represented by Sherri Bennett. Sherri basically does not much for what she is paid for and that is a fact, but does a good job sitting back waiting for instruction from the opposing attorney. She only moves when the opposition makes their move requiring her to do something. Until then all wait for the opposing players to make their move before Sherri does anything. Her calling herself an attorney for men is literally funny if not so sad for those of us who pay her to represent us.
