In hindsight, if I had the opportunity to select another company I would have done so. Overall, I was very disappointed in the services I received for the money I paid. I expected a dedicated advocate, not a paper-shuffler. I contacted your company because I had originally contacted Goldberg Jones... in 2010 for a phone consultation and I thought the level of experience advertised would serve me well. When I decided to use your services, I did not consider the expensive hourly rate until I had spent tens of thousands of dollars for little results. Every time I got an expensive invoice, it listed mostly administrative activities. I got the impression I was just one out of many clients, without any demonstration of real concern, passion or strategy for my individual case. The rate, I understand, was set by the company. However, I got the impression over the course of the proceedings that my attorney was for the most part a highly-paid paper shuffler who dedicated little energy to the case. Just one of many. Go with the flow. File this, send that, answer e-mails. No definitive strategy. Mostly react, little attack. A ho-hum approach with little interaction. Very standard, predictable administrative activities. When I asked for advice, I was told on several occasions: "what do you think we should do?" We hire attorneys to give us advice, not ask for it. I was very disappointed in his perceived level of attention to my case. On two instances he said "I don't remember if I sent this to you." This was based on information sent from my ex-wife's attorney to him, and relevant to the case, and sent to me several days later. I'm sure Robert Mar is a capable attorney, but he needs to pay more attention to being an convincing advocate for his clients. He needs to instill confidence that the client's interests are foremost. I never got that impression.
