I am an American citizen but my wife is from Japan. My wife earned her Bachelor's degree in the U.S. under a student F1 Visa. She was able to stay in the U.S. and work during the first year after she graduated from college under an Optional Practical Training (OPT) extension, but before long that yea...r had passed and her visa was set to expire.
