This is the worst lawyer, I have interacted with in my 48 years of life!

This is the worst lawyer I have ever interacted with in 47 years. To my surprise, I found a review of Ms. Rose by reviewer "Kelley" in 2015. Wow, I was shocked! it is one thing to read criticism from another reviewer. It is another thing when the conduct described by a stranger matches line by line... what the business/person, did to you. That is not a coincidence. When I read the review by "kelley", I was shocked that Ms. Rose had done this type of thing to other vulnerable people. She is the first lawyer I have ever interacted with who made my situation more stressful and less legally viable to the point that I had to walk away and eat the $500 deposit. Lawyers I have interacted with in the past, help you with your situation. The retainer fee and scope of work is signed easily with no drama. NOT WITH PATTY ROSE. I am just grateful that I was able to retain actual legal assistance and walk away before it was too late! I succeeded in my hearing despite her efforts. I called her on the phone and she offered a free consult and proposed a $750 flat fee for her help with all services required in preparation for my unemployment hearing with the OAH. During our initial consult, Ms. Rose seemed nice. She offered my mom and I a convenient weekend consult (July 25th). While we were there she spoke about offering personal investigative services, legal research work and more, for a total flat fee of $1250 with a $500.00 deposit. On July 25th we asked her to send over a fee agreement +scope of work and promised we would send the $500. What we received via email was a contract that had zero language in it about a flat fee. We were both dumbfounded. We asked her why this was the case and she apologized and said she would send us another. We received this new fee agreement on July 29th. Again, none of the language in the contract described a flat fee and a scope of work remotely close to what she had committed to in person on the 25th. Still, having never experienced anything like this previously, in good faith we sent her the $500 which she cashed the first week of August. From there we talked several more times. Each time she promised to send over a fee agreement resembling what we had all agreed upon. Thank GOSH we never agreed to sign any of the other random unrelated contracts! Having retained over 30 attorneys between the both of us, neither of us had ever had a lawyer behave this way. Each of us called attorney friends of ours who instructed us "to run away" from this attorney. As stressed as I was with getting my documents prepared for my hearing with the OAH, Ms. Rose made it 100 times worse, increasing my stress level with her mental games and repeated submission of documents that bore zero relation to anything she committed to in person or by email. What kind of horrible person would do something like this to someone already dealing with the stress of fighting the OAH for unemployment owed?! I wrote an email to her stating that I was grateful that she did this to me-someone who had the resources, extended timeline, and legal experience to know that her behavior was so out of line that she was violating the principles of the Washington State Bar. While she might be great at researching employment law and well connected in employment law forums, she is a lazy SCAM artist who brings people in with her free consultation. People who provider her with the $500 are so committed and suffering such stress, they stick with her. They rely on her doing the work that they either can't or won't do themselves. When she loses your case because she performs zero work she tells you that she is primed to represent you in District court for five times the amount of money. I don't care how many attorneys refer to Patty Rose for her free consultations and employment experience, DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES BELIEVE THAT SHE WILL WORK TO MAKE YOUR SITUATION BETTER.

"I highly endorse this lawyer's work. Ms. Rose is the attorney I refer clients for employment and labor law matters. Unknown to Ms. Rose she has successfully handled two referrals who after their cases had concluded had called me back and stated appreciation in our referring Ms. Rose to them. She cares about her clients and works hard."
