Helped twice

To Anyone with a large legal problem who is thinking about hiring Robert Perez: I just had a very good resolution to an issue that I had and so of course I have very good things to say about Robert but let me tell you some things that might help you and that you might not think of. Roberts conc...ept of starting working on a case from the moment you know that an investigation is happening is different from many attorneys that I talked to but I am now solidly convinced that it is absolutly the right method for several reasons. 1. The biggest method is that there is a possability of the case never even being charged. This means that you have nothing on your record and literally nothing happens to you. If you are reading this then you are probably in the sitation where if you do not hire an attorney you will be charged. I was in this situation not once but 2 times. They were related but Robert was able to show the police and prosecutor problems in their cases before it ever got to the charging and plea bargaining stage. 2. The work that Robert does in the beginning is very helpful to show that there is someone on your side and this helps to keep the police and prosecutor from taking advantage of you. I am not particularly anti goverment or anti police (They are there for a reason and do a lot of good work.) but i have been flat out lied to by police before. The police work with guilty people all the time so they often start to think everyone is guilty and kind of feel justified in doing anything they can to get convictions. This did not happen when I had Robert on my side. The police knew I had an attorney so they knew they had to be careful and fair. This DID effect the case at one point. 3. You have to know the way that they police and prosecutor will attack you so you can know how to defend yourself. In my many talkes with Robert I was constantly shocked at the information that I could not use in my defence. Often it could be turned against me even though to me it seemed like any rational person would see these things as signs of innocence rather then guilt but after talking to Robert I could understand how these things could be turned. You have to have someone with experience on your side who can see how things are twisted to make you look bad. 4. You have to know what is going to happen and how and when. When you are being investigated for a crime it is like an evil feeling magic black box. Stuff goes in but you have no idea what went in, what is in there, or what is happening in there. Your attorney has a kind of small window into this box. Basically your attorney has the ablity to call and ask the police and prosecutor questions that you could never ask. Some questions they kind of have to answer others they sometimes will answer out of proffessional courtesy. Robert used this window extensively on my behalf. My understanding is that some attorneys do not bother to talk to the pplice or prosecutor until you are charged and they get a sort of disclosure document. After what I just went through that seems like a TERRIBLE idea. I was in a coffee shop the other day and a guy was talking about something completely unrelated and he said, "We have the best legal system in the world IF you can afford it." Unfortunatly this is VERY VERY true. I have now seen it first hand. I have learned that it does not matter how innocent you may actually be you must have a good attorney at your side. I would recommend hiring Robert. He was not the cheapest attorney I interviewed but I am obviously very happy with my choice to hire him. Several I interviewed would not start work for me till I had been charged. Which would have been a TERRIBLE idea. I hope this helps you.

Excellent lawyer, totally recommend!

We hired him for our DV case. We found him to be a very competent, knowledgeable, reliable lawyer, probably the best you can find! He was very thorough with the facts & the preparation for trial. Not only him, but also his Assistant was very responsive & efficient. Our case was finally dropped, but w...e sure credit him for excellently handling our case!

Robert Perez basically got my investigation dropped.

Robert Perez was awesome in my case. I had the police show up at my door and grab my computers stating that they had evidence of some very nasty criminal activity on them. I talked to a lot of attorneys. One told me that it was his job to lie for me. Which kind of made sense in a way. Several ...told me that not to do anything or to only hire an attorney after I was actually charged. When I talked to Robert he said that it was best if he started working for me immediately. I did ask another attorney about this when I was in my search and they told me that Robert would just be taking my money since nothing could be done until after I was charged. Well... I decided to go with Robert anyway because he was the best computer expert and what he said about doing prefile work made sense to me. Also I had looked up the penalties for the crime I was being investigated for they were very sever and I just felt that I needed someone helping me ASAP. At that moment in my life with my computers confiscated it was a stretch to come up with Robert's fee but it was well worth it. I am very glad that I did. The first thing Robert did was contact the detective investigating my case. Robert got a lot of information on the case for me. Because at this point I really was in the dark about the investigation. He also let the detective know that he was on the case and so all communications would go through Robert. This was a load off my mind. Robert talked with me in great detail several times and he then gave the detective what evidence he could find that showed I either was or could be innocent. Something that most people do not realize is that detectives are busy people. And they would most like to spend their limited time finding the worst offenders with the greatest weight of evidence against them. And detectives like most other police officers can not help but to assume that nearly every person they investigate is guilty. So having Robert in touch with the detective made things easier for the detective to see my side of things. Where as I could not have done this on my own with out digging a bigger hole for myself Robert was able to explain the situation in a way that the detective could hear and understand. In the end I was not charged with any crime and the case was not forwarded to a prosecutor. I am quite sure that if I had not hired Robert my case would have been forwarded to a prosecutor and I would have been charged. In fact I actually talked with the detective in charge of my case and he actually told me as much. He also told me that he appreciated my and Robert's co-operation and assistance in the investigation. If I had taken the advice of other attorneys and waited before hiring an attorney until I had been charged.... Then even if I had not panicked and plea bargained like most people and won my case I would STILL have had it on my record that I had been charged with this crime. I am VERY glad that I did not follow their advice. I am very glad I hired Robert. Robert told me up front that the odds of them simply dropping my case was VERY VERY slim but that it did happen. He also told me that by his starting early in my case he would be in a much better position to defend me had I actually been charged. Well, I was lucky to have that slim very good outcome. I would not have had that without Robert. I also do believe that he would have been in a better position to defend me because of his early work on my case if I had been charged. Robert was always responsive to my question and inquires. I was a nervous wreck and had a million questions. Is this a glowing review. Well. Yes it is. I had the best outcome from my case that I could have imagined.

Highly recommended

From my first consultation with Mr. Perez and his staff, I felt completely confident that I was in the best possible hands. I was scared and nervous about my charges, but Robert always managed to put me at ease. Whenever I called in for an update (which was often) he always made time for me, no matte...r how small my questions. After a few tough months, my case was over and it settled with the best possible outcome. I couldn't ask for more from an attorney. Hopefully I will never be in this situation again, but if I once again have charges filed against me, I wouldn't go to any other lawyer. Thank you Robert, Dorothy, and Cyhnthia.

"Robert Perez is an excellent advocate for his clients and a great legal mentor within the Washington legal community. Robert’s high level of professionalism fosters prompt communication and a strong sense of respect for his clients and his profession. Robert is a fierce litigator who fights State and Federal prosecutors each step of the way by challenging the evidence against his clients in motion hearings and at trial. Robert does not take no for an answer. He finds creative and often complex solutions to problems other lawyers would give up on or simply not identify. Robert is an exceptional trial attorney who treats every case with due respect, whether it’s a simple misdemeanor or a death penalty case because each client’s case is equally important to him. Robert’s attention to details in the facts of a case and nuisances in the law truly sets him apart from the average practitioner. I would truty Robert whole heartedly as my advocate if I were ever to need legal counsel."

"Robert is a consummate professional. He is a gifted advocate, and a tenacious foe when it comes to trial. He tackles daunting cases with extremely complex facts, and is able to address challenges to scientific principles that most lawyers would be fearful to touch. The results speak for themselves -- he has won over juries and judges with his powerful skills, and has gained the respect of the legal community. Also, I find him to be an extremely generous colleague - I have used him as a resource on several occasions and always find him willing to talk through a difficult legal challenge with me, which is amazing given how busy his practice can be.... I endorse him without hesitation."
