Absolute Professional

Mark was referred to me through my family law lawyer when a criminal charge was brought against me. Mark took swift action and acted on my behalf before I even had time to consult with him in person. He took a calculated position to gain information and form a plan to give us the best option for defe...nse. He communicated with me and officials at every step of the process. I felt very safe no matter the outcome. Due to good lawyering and a modern miracle, the prosecutor declined to press charges. I needed someone who I could fully trust and I found that in Mark. 10 Stars!

Exactly what I wanted and needed

Mark is a professional with an extensive background in WA law. I don't think I could have found a better person to handle my issue quickly and efficiently. Highly recommend this attorney.

Ethical, Passionate, Intelligent

I've had the opportunity to work with and teach with Mark at the University of Washington law school. A Stanford graduate, he is intelligent and strategic on appellate matters. I have staffed multiple appeals issues with him and have always found his guidance to be thoughtful and well informed. He i...s passionate about helping clients. A zealous advocate, he, unlike many attorneys, will attempt to examine a case from multiple angles before hopping to a conclusion about what approach makes the most sense. He has strong research skills and is a good writer. I highly recommend him for appellate and criminal defense work.

Excellent attorney!

Mark Middaugh was a fantastic attorney who helped resolve my charge efficiently and successfully. Not only was he able to help me understand a complicated legal process, but he also enabled me to avoid unnecessary court appearances and minimized disruptions to my life throughout the process. Mark was... extremely knowledgeable of the issues and the courts and was able to navigate the necessary channels to efficiently resolve my case. Further, he took the time to explain my situation and potential outcomes clearly and concisely, which greatly eased the stress of the situation for me. His extensive relationships within the courts as a public defender and his experience made my potentially huge problem a minor inconvenience. He is everything you want in attorney. I am so grateful for his thorough and expert service and I highly recommend Mark without reservation.

If you're looking for a public defender who is passionate about defending his clients, Mark Middaugh is NOT him.

He talks a big game and does a good job selling himself, but once you hire him as your public defender he does a complete 180. Does the bare minimum required of him and by bare minimum I mean next to nothing, his method is to try to terrorize you into taking any deal, bad, terrible it does not matte...r as long as you're out of his hair and it's on to the next unfortunate client. On top of that he completely twists everything you say to his benefit and has the nerve to insinuates to your face that you have said something you never did when you call him out on it. I cannot stress enough what a complete nightmare it was having him as my advocate, and I'm using the term advocate very loosely in this case. If you want an honest lawyer who will have your back and fight for you this is not him. Keep looking.
