Well crafted applications that are strategically thought through for future developments

I’ve worked with Ellen on a number of patents over the years and have very much appreciated the quality of her work. She’s very thoughtful and thorough – makes the effort to understand the invention and what’s valuable in it. The applications are well crafted and solid. She’s particularly good a...t generalizing the invention. My inclination was to just focus on the application areas I had in mind, but she broadened them which turned out to be very helpful when those turned out to be not so valuable but other uses were. In the following years it’s been much more the situation of “I’m glad we put that in” rather than “I wish we had thought to cover that”. Doing this well requires a strong understanding of both the invention and the broader domain area and she has that, certainly in tech areas.

Uniquely Qualified, Experienced, Persistent and Professional

Leveraging her technical history with Microsoft, combined with a deep, contemporary understanding of patent law, Ellen helped define, design, and pursue the successful award of 12+ US and International patents for our Kirland based software company. In addition to her unique technical background and ...deep legal experience, her persistence in educating and negotiating with Examiners was critical to our success. I would strongly recommend Ellen and her team!

Avvo Rating

Our Rating is calculated using information the lawyer has included on their profile in addition to the information we collect from state bar associations and other organizations that license legal professionals. Attorneys who claim their profiles and provide Avvo with more information tend to have a higher rating than those who do not.

What determines Avvo Rating?
  • Experience & background Years licensed, work experience, education
  • Legal community recognition Peer endorsements, associations, awards
  • Legal thought leadership Publications, speaking engagements
  • Discipline Disciplinary information may not be comprehensive, or updated. We recommend that you always check a lawyer's disciplinary status with their respective state bar association before hiring them.
