Our 12-unit condo complex required some major repairs to our decks due in part to wind driven rain and poor construction. Upon suggestion from our architect and construction company that our issues are something insurance might actually cover, we filed a claim with our insurance company but it was of course denied. At this point our HOA met with Dan. He was very honest about the process, possible outcomes, costs, and clearly communicated what to expect if we wanted to secure his services. Throughout our meeting, Dan was not pushy at all. Looking back, our community is very happy we hired Dan. He kept us in the loop throughout the whole process and promptly responded to any questions we had. Dan knew our insurance policy inside and out and in the end he was able to convince our insurance company to cover our repairs. This was the best outcome we could have hoped for and avoided more costly and time consuming measures that Dan had also prepared us for. At this point Dan acted as our liaison to the insurance company. I, being the treasurer of the HOA, submitted our invoices to Dan and he made sure they were properly submitted to our insurance for prompt re-imbursement. The construction on our decks took nearly a year to fully complete (partly due to our lovely winters in the PNW and partly due to Covid restrictions). Throughout it all, Dan was very patient and continued to periodically checked in with us on the construction progress and advised us when we should submit our invoices for insurance re-imbursement. The entire process went smoothly with Dan and his team leading the way and we are so grateful that Dan was able to to help us put our hard earned money back in our pockets.

I am an Condo Association HOA board member. The Association was faced with repairing millions of dollars of wind driven rain damage and our insurance company had denied the claim. Our consultant suggested that we ask Dan to review our claim. Dan found a forgotten tolling agreement with the insurance company that meant our claim was still active. We would have never known about it except for Dan's insights and through investigation.
We engaged Dan as our lawyer and he guided us every step of the way through the complicated process of reaching a settlement. One of Dan's most notable qualities is his patience and clarity in answering the multitude of questions asked by owners and the board. He was always willing to attend evening HOA meetings and participate in board meetings. In the end, Dan helped us reach a settlement with the insurance company that will pay for a major portion of the needed repairs.
In my experience, there is a unique quality of cooperation, respect and rhythm when working with a consummate and caring professional. That is what I felt when working with Dan.

Dan represented our small HOA in claims against multiple insurers for recovery for significant property damage caused by wind driven rain. The homeowners in our HOA are mostly retirees living on fixed incomes who would have been severely impacted by the costs of repairing this damage. Dan's exhaustive research, assertive advocacy, and impressive organizational skills resulted in multiple recoveries for our association that exceeded our initial expectations. Over the several year time period that these claims progressed, he kept our board well-informed about the progress of the claims through clear, timely, and detailed written communications. He managed our expectations well about potential recoveries, but did not hesitate to negotiate fiercely on our behalf for every dollar.
I am the president of the HOA as well as a retired attorney who is AV rated by Martindale Hubbell. I've retained, supervised, and worked with scores of attorneys over the years. Dan is one of the very best attorneys I've ever worked with. I would recommend him without hesitation to anyone facing similar claims.

We had an issue of insurance refusing to cover a claim regarding a collapse. After consulting a few attorneys we ended up using Dan and we were rewarded for it. Dan put the time in consulting with industry professionals, and thinking creatively to get us a favorable outcome. I would highly recommend Dan to anyone!

The Board at our small condo association was very hesitant about pursuing a claim against our insurance company. However, having been denied coverage by the insurance company on our own and the massive amount of repairs needed on our buildings forced us to go ahead with a lawsuit. Dan was patient and kind as he help our Board navigate the litigious community that was so foreign to us. It was a long process, but he helped us through the whole way. He is very knowledgeable about the industry and the process. I will recommend him to others.
