Peter D. Haroldson has been serving Washington families since 2004. His practice emphasizes family law, guardianship, probate and estate planning. He has represented clients in Pierce, King, Thurston, Kitsap, Snohomish, and Skagit County.
Peter represents civilian and military parents in all manner of domestic relations, including divorce, child custody, paternity, parentage, third-party custody, non-parental custody, and relocation.
Peter also has extensive experience representing certified professional guardians and family guardians in court-created guardianships under RCW 11.88. Peter is qualified as a court-appointed guardian ad litem in RCW Title 11 (probate/guardianship/trust) cases. He has handled cases involving elder abuse and protection of vulnerable adults. Peter is also available to consult with and assist residential care facilities, nursing homes and adult family homes in guardianship proceedings for their residents.
Peter believes that a basic estate plan is an important tool that every family should have, not just the “1 percent”. Simple wills, powers of attorney, and health care directives (living wills) can prevent financial and emotional stress during already difficult times. Peter is committed to providing affordable estate planning for every family, including yours.
A Northwest native, Peter graduated from the University of Washington with a BS in Cell and Molecular Biology, and performed cancer research at the University of Washington prior to obtaining his JD from Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. Peter is a member of the Washington State Bar Association, and the Tacoma Pierce County Bar Association, and was a past chair of the TPCBA Guardianship section.
In his spare time, Peter is an avid car enthusiast, a shade-tree oenophile (wine lover), and loves to read. But most of Peter's time is spent being the proud father of his two beautiful children!
