Lloyd represented me in a contested divorce case. He was like the television detective "Lieutenant Columbo" -- he seemed quiet and easy-going, he lulled the opposing party into a false sense of security, and then BAM! he effectively won the case with one killer sentence. He has a tremendous depth and... subtlety of legal understanding, and perceived avenues and pitfalls three steps ahead that never even occurred to me. For this reason I think he works best if you place your trust and your case in his hands rather than trying to micromanage him. Of course, like any professional relationship, you as the client have to do the basic legwork to enable him to be more effective. I've been puzzled by the negative reviews of him on this site. I suspect they come from clients who either tried to micromanage him (which will obviously not work since their legal understand is worse than his) or who failed to support him with enough homework of their own. I would wholeheartedly recommend Lloyd to anyone.
