I have decades of experience winning disability, long term care, life insurance, and wildfire/catastrophic loss property insurance cases. I look forward to doing the same for you.
Monahan Tucker Law has offices in Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Portland, OR. The journey to opening Monahan Tucker Law was decades-long. I worked as a waitress, office manager, book store clerk, messenger, and nanny to put myself through college and law school at the University of Chicago. For more than a decade after, I worked at some of the top law firms in the country, litigating bet-the-company cases, including high value life, health, property and disability insurance claims. Eventually, I realized that I like insurance cases, and I like helping people. Now I use my knowledge of the inner workings of insurance companies to help insureds navigate these complex systems. While insurance claims are business decisions to the insurance companies, denials can change the life of the person who doesn't get the benefits they are owed.
Your legal issues will be unique, and you deserve an attorney who will recognize that and give every case the attention and analysis it deserves. I have sued most of the large insurers in the country, including Unum, MetLife, Northwest Mutual, Life Insurance Company of America, Hartford, Reliance Standard, Prudential, Farmers, State Farm, CSAA, FAIR Plan, and many others, under both ERISA and state bad faith law. I have been named "AV Preeminent" by Martindale Hubbell, which rates attorneys through peer review by querying judges and lawyers nationwide to identify attorneys "ranked at the highest level of professional excellence for their legal expertise, communication skills, and ethical standards by their peers." But perhaps most importantly, I realize that the litigation is about YOU, and righting a wrong against you.
I am admitted to the bar in California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada and Arizona, and can help you with your insurance issues throughout the west.

An attorney who truly cares!
First of all, we won a big settlement! More importantly, Stacy and her team kept me informed regarding the case status, showed great compassion and instilled confidence. All this during a time where I was so very overwhelmed with grief and generally feeling pretty beat up. I could not have hoped for...

Excellent attorney! Could not be any better!
Kantor and Kantor and specifically Stacy helped me with my long-term disability case. After fighting with the insurance company on my own, I was exhausted and frustrated. After the very first conversation with Stacy, I knew I could rest easy and I was in good hands. She handled everything with...

"I have known Stacey for many years and she's great. I would certainly call her if I had an insurance coverage issue."
"I've known Stacy in the ERISA legal community for many years. First as tough opposing counsel and then as a colleague on the plaintiff-side. Stacy is an excellent advocate for her clients. I highly recommend and endorse her."
"Over the years, I have seen firsthand Stacy's work and skills litigating ERISA governed long term disability cases. She knows the law and how to best advance the interests of her clients. She has achieved great results. I am sure that her clients appreciate her dedication and caring."

Appellate court upheld trial court win.
Farmers' motion was denied in full and Plaintiff was able to proceed to trial.
The court held that the insurance company had failed to demonstrate that the insured should have expected to die as a result of his actions, and ordered the insurer to pay the benefits in full.
The court held that the insurer failed to sufficiently investigate the cause of her injury, choosing to assume that it was caused by her prior accident because that result was favorable for it.
