I have a master's degree in special education and I have worked as a special education teacher and then educational consultant for 20 years before law school. Since law school I have devoted my practice to representing parents and children in all areas of school law for students through high school. This has included representing parents at IEP meetings, 504 meetings, discipline hearings, due process hearings, and then appeals to federal court. I also help parents become guardians of their disabled children turning 18 years old.

Bull dog with good intentions that may lead to not optimal communication and results
I was referred to Jeanette by a generalist in a crisis situation. Some confusion and not optimal communication (plus the initial hand off) probably did not get the best result or leave me with a choice. That said, she was a bull dog 90% of the time on the resulting follow up. When she took my case, s...

Good responder
I was referred to Jeannette for my concerns. She responded immediately, and although she could not take my case, she referred me to the Avvo website to select another attorney.

I fought them and ended up filing due process. I attempted to fight on my own, but when we worked out an IEP and they backed out at the las...
