Nathan Gabriel Steele

I grew up in Oregon and sincerely care about this state and the rights of its people. I have always marveled at how hard Oregonians work and how much they care about the things that really matter. I attended the University of Oregon and obtained a degree in political science.  While at the University of Oregon I ran track and field and excelled in academics. Balancing both a rigorous training and academic schedule required great focus, a competitive drive, confidence and determination. After completing my undergraduate studies, I stayed at home and attended the University of Oregon School of Law.

While attending law school I was married and had a child. I also worked part-time during law school and clerked for an Oregon Circuit Court Judge. This opportunity was invaluable in that I gained a working knowledge of Oregon’s Court System. It was at this time that I fell in love with the court room and trial work.

After law school, I obtained a job as an attorney in a law firm that represents insurance companies. While working at this law firm, I had the privilege of being mentored by one of Oregon’s great trial attorneys, who taught me that a successful lawyer must be passionate, hard-working, and credible. While working at this firm, I also defended all types of cases for insurance companies, including, personal injury, settlements involving minors, wrongful death, bicycle and pedestrian accidents, property loss, and other insurance related disputes. In addition to representing insurance companies, I also began to handle cases for clients seriously injured as result of another person’s negligence or intentional misconduct. I found this work particularly rewarding as I was able to use my knowledge of the insurance industry to obtain great results for my clients.

I then moved my family to Portland and took a job working as an insurance company’s in-house attorney. It was at this time, I gained a working knowledge of all the techniques and methods used by insurance companies to handle claims. I handled cases all over Oregon and had great success taking cases to trial. I also developed a working relationships with adjusters and attorneys from all of the major insurance companies and a reputation among adjusters for being knowledgeable and a fierce competitor. Although I defended the insurance company with great vigor and passion, I missed using my experience and talent to represent injured clients who did not have the backing of a huge insurance company.

I then left Portland and moved to Central Oregon. I spent a lot of time in Central Oregon as a kid and always knew that it would eventually be my home. Since moving to Central Oregon I have been using my experience and knowledge of the insurance industry to properly advise and protect the interests of my clients. I am licensed to practice law in both Oregon and Washington. My practice is focused on representing seriously injured clients in cases involving personal injury, defective and dangerous products, medical malpractice and negligence. It is a great privilege to be a lawyer and I take this responsibility very seriously. I use all my focus, confidence, experience, and determination to obtain the very best results for my clients.

In additional to my law practice, I enjoy spending time with my family, mountain biking, skiing, soccer, mountaineering, and fishing. Since moving to Central Oregon, I have also has enjoyed being involved in community and volunteer events, e.g., coaching youth basketball and soccer, and serving as a board member of a non-profit organization.
