Biography
I've practiced in Oregon since 1978, primarily in the Eugene-Springfield area.
After several years with the Lane County District Attorney, I joined a long standing area law firm focusing on personal injury, civil rights and criminal defense.
I'm a member of the Americn Trial Lawyers Association, Oregon Trial Lawyers Association and Oregon Criminal Defense Attorneys (Past President). I'm licensed in all state and federal courts including the United States Supreme Court.
I take my civic obligations seriously, and have served on various boards and committees working toward improvements in legal representation and access to the law during my entire career.
I enjoy practicing in a small firm environment...no cookie cutter responses to my clients' problems. I aim to provide highly personalized service to each and everyone of them. As a result, I've been able to achieve substantial financial settlements and judgments in injury and insurance cases and violations of individual civil rights. In defending against criminal charges, I've successfully challenged the state's evidence with resulting not guilty verdicts, substantially reduced charges and favorable plea negotioans.
My aim....listen carefully, respect the humanity in each client and represent vigorously.
I consider it a privilege to be able to protect my clients in our often complicated legal system.

Honest evaluation of my situation
Mr Veralrud responded the day after I posted my request. He explained that it would be a difficult case to prove and probably would not be worth pursuing.

Very Helpful!!!
