John verses sylvia!

John did a great job of making me feel that he had all bases covered, and had total control of the situation! I though he was fair and up front about what I could expect when The dust settled down! I also thought he represent my interest, and tried to keep the cost under control!

Highly recommended.

I went to John Case for help with a divorce. He came highly recommended by a friend of mine who is another attorney, and I've told her at least a dozen times since how grateful I am. John has been professional, realistic and kind through a process that took almost a year and was far more difficult t...han I could have imagined. As you'd expect, I arrived at our first meeting apprehensive and unhappy, but fairly sure the process would be straightforward -- after all, my ex and I had no children together and we were both more-than-gainfully employed. John and his staff were welcoming and approachable. John listened to my story carefully, explained my options and got to work immediately. But instead of the drama-free resolution I'd expected, I found myself at the receiving end of a demand for alimony and more cash than I could possibly lay my hands on. John, who's clearly seen much worse, took it in stride and made sure that I did as well. It is not easy to be both reassuring and realistic, but he somehow managed both, and I always felt that we had a plan. I credit him and his assistant Terrie with making sure I didn't fly apart at the seams. John dealt with everything as it came up, without delay, and kept me informed the entire time. He was also conscious of cost, making sure he didn't unnecessarily "run the meter" in fees -- even when I'd bombard him with a string of emailed questions and ideas, usually composed in a fit of stressed-out insomnia. He answered my questions, advised me when to act and when to sit tight, and followed up when he said he would. I tend to be impatient with mathematical details and he made sure I understood them along with the process of valuing retirement accounts and property. John was fully prepared to take my case to trial and after some enjoyable conversations with him in the office, I'm a bit sorry I didn't get to see him present my case to a judge. But instead he did the right thing -- when a last-minute settlement offer came in and I balked ("are you kidding -- NOW they're offering exactly what we proposed months ago?!"), John was sympathetic and certainly willing to proceed, but also pointed out that he would very likely be the only one making any money if we insisted on taking it any further. In the end, my case was settled and I am getting on with my life. I would recommend John to anyone needing help with a family law matter.

Great Attorney

He is an excellent lawyer. There were a few times during my long drawn out (messy) divorce case that I felt he was not responsive/keeping me informed. I discovered that he was trying to save me money (which was awesome). Although I did not always know what exactly was going on, he did, and eventually... things came together. He is great in the court room and works well with the judge, and opposing attorneys. He fights for what is right. He got me more time with my children because he knew that having them every other weekend and a 4 hour visit during the opposite week (as desired by my children's biological mother) was not healthy for an involved father like myself. He is expensive, yes, but I know i would not have what I do with my children if I had retained a lawyer of less. I will be retaining him again in a couple years when we go back to court and fight for more time with my children. Thanks John Case.

Best lawyer in Salem!!

There are a lot of lawyers out there and I feel very fortunate that I was referred to John. I was separated almost 3 years and found the whole divorce process overwhelming. John was confident, knowledgable, trustworthy, and gave me the assurance I needed to move forward with my divorce proceedings.... I honestly thought I was going to lose a lot, money and assets I worked a long time for. Unfortunately my divorce went to court, and it was there that I realized what a truly great lawyer he is . The outcome far exceeded my expectations. He was worth every penny , the best money I ever spent.

John Case Review

Here's the lowdown on John Case: I came to John after a bad experience with another attorney. I had decided to represent myself. My ex's attorney had eaten me up alive, somehow got a judgement against me, giving her everything that there was after 22 years of marriage. I had been referred to Mr. Case... months earlier by a friend, but had not called him. John listened carefully, gave me my options, and took a $4500.00 retainer. Within three weeks, the judgement had been redone. (and if it hadn't been redone, it would have been thrown out) Not only was it fair, it was much , much more than fair and I ended up not having to pay her anything cashwise. Bottomline: If you are looking for an attorney to hold your hand through the whole process, John is probably not your attorney. If you want to guarantee the best possible results for you, call John. He's seriously good, and you will know you are represented COMPLETELY. FYI: When all was said and done, I got a check back on my retainer for $1500.00.

Relationship: Opposing Counsel on matter

"I recently had a family law matter with Mr. Case. I found that he strikes that elusive balance between strong advocacy and reasonableness (not just the appearance of, but true fairness). Our matter was complicated and could have easily cost each of our clients a small fortune. Instead, I think we're ending with an outcome that was best for both parties and their child. Mr. Case is a very good attorney and I look forward to working with him again."
