I contacted Dave based on a friend's recommendation, and his free inItial consult was exactly what I needed. I liked him. Now I have a good plan for my next steps and I know under what conditions I should hire him.

You'll have a hard time finding a better engineer to be your lawyer (or a better lawyer to do engineering work for you, if that's what you need!) I live for the thrill of figuring out how, whether it's "how to get a transistor to do what you want," or "how to convince the judge of my client's position." My background is obviously good for patent work, but I consider my legal skills to be just another tool to be used when appropriate. You know what they say: "If the only tool you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a thumb!" Not every problem can be solved by a contract or a lawsuit, but almost every problem can be solved. My goal is to solve my clients' problems in the most efficient and economical manner.
If you've got a run-of-the-mill problem, take it to a run-of-the-mill lawyer. But if you've got a problem that has your regular attorney stumped, give me a call. If it's really a tough one, you'll make my day!

very helpful, polite, and knowledgeable!
I had an issue with a trademark search, and Mr. Madden really helped me out by explaining the situation very clearly.
Thanks again David.

"Dave is a terrific guy, and one of the most competent attorneys I've had the pleasure of working with. Dave's knowledge of substantive copyright law is excellent, but what sets him apart is how well versed he is in the tendencies and temperaments of the judges in his district. Good lawyers stay on top of all of their own cases, but great lawyers go beyond that, aspiring to stay on top of all the cases that have the potential to affect their entire practices. Dave is a great lawyer."
