Biography
Brent Renison is an immigration attorney in Portland, Oregon who has been representing employers and key employees with business-based immigration since 1997. He is top listed in Best Lawyers in America, is top ranked as a leading individual by London-based Chambers and Partners and is named by Law & Politics as a Super Lawyer. He is the recipient of numerous national and local awards including the Ninth Annual Daniel Levy Memorial Award for Outstanding Achievement in Immigration Law (2010), The Oregon State Bar President's Public Service Award (2011), a Presidential Award from the American Immigration Lawyers Association for Outstanding Achievement in Mentoring and Litigation on behalf of immigrant rights (2007), and the Gerald H. Robinson Excellence in Advocacy Award from the Oregon AILA Chapter (2007). He has received certification as a Global Mobility Specialist™ by Worldwide ERC®.
Brent Renison served as an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Oregon School of Law from 2004 to 2007, and has lectured regionally and nationally on immigration law topics. He enjoys making red wine from Oregon grapes, and exploring the natural beauty of the Northwest.
Brent Renison's work to end the "Widow Penalty" in immigration law has been featured on CBS News 60 Minutes with Bob Simon, and also on National Public Radio's This American Life with Ira Glass. He continues to pursue legislative change and litigation on behalf of immigrant rights as a complementary practice to his employment based immigration services. He is the recipient of the 2011 Oregon State Bar President's Public Service Award for his civil rights work.
