Rude
He was very rude in his communication when I reached out for initial consultation. When someone reaches out to an immigration lawyer they are often in a vulnerable position. It is disgraceful to behave like this even if they haven't hired you yet.
I receive a large number of email inquiries and endeavor to respond very quickly to each one, and while your anonymous rating does not tell me which one was yours, I'm sure I let you know I could not help you and I did not charge you either. Please accept my apology for being blunt.
"Brent is a highly competent, well-respected, and devoted advocate. I had the privilege of working with him, in the Courts and before Congress, as part of the herculean effort to end the "widow penalty." This punitive application of our immigration law had persisted for decades, and no one was more instrumental than Brent in ending it. Throughout this ordeal, and in many subsequent matters, I have witnessed firsthand how dedicated Brent is to his work and his clients. I could not recommend him highly enough."
"My fellow Portland colleagues, especially Mr. Hasche, have correctly and accurately stated that Mr. Renison is on of the top immigration attorneys around. I endorse him without hesitation."
"I endorse this lawyer. After serving with the Passport Office in Seattle for several years, Brent joined our lawfirm in 1996 as an associate. Later, he became a partner. In around 2001, he left for a larger firm. Brent is probably the most knowledgeable attorney regarding citizenship issues in the Northwest. He is innovative, fearless, and very diligent in representing his clients. He has taken several high profile immigration cases all the way to federal court and won. He spearheaded the litigation to abolish the "widow penalty" in the Immigration and Nationality Act, and this resulted in Congress' eventually amending the Act. He is all about service to his clients and to the community. His ethical awareness is an example to his colleagues, and his personal ethics are beyond reproach. He is a great communicator and represents our bar extremely well."
"I endorse this lawyer. Brent is intelligent and articulate and always gives 100% effort to every task. In addition to his excellent legal skills, he is compassionate and caring, which is a rare combination. His clients are lucky to have him on their sides."
"I endorse this lawyer. Brent is a smart, passionate advocate with excellent ligitation skills. He has specialized knowledge of acquired and derivative citizenship and has been at the forefront of changes in immigration law and policy affecting immigrant widows and widowers."
