Jon went above and beyond to answer our questions and empower us to do our own research. He was receptive to the evidence we put forward in our very emotionally trying case. I recently finalized my divorce thanks to the due diligence of Jon Trause. He was able to firmly but fairly work with my ex's attorney to guide us through the mediation process, allowing us to avoid court proceedings. Jon does not appear to be passionate about law. I do not question that he understands it, but there was a clear lack of interest, drive, competence or compassion towards my case. I was financially crippled from his fees and without a single thing to show for it. I continue to remain utterly baffled a...t what specifically he did and now need to start back at the beginning with a new lawyer. Jon's lack of attention to the most basic of detail was both astounding and deeply upsetting. His approach was his own and he did not listen to my concerns and appeared to scan or glaze over my file only moments before speaking to me. (Yet I was billed for his reading time). Furthermore, he communicated in a condescending manner that was also long-winded and lyrical, yet primarily irrelevant or redundant. I felt very taken advantage of; paying top dollar for seriously low quality work. I am still considering whether to file a sanction regarding his lack of competence...this is how poor I felt his services were. I would never recommend this lawyer and question the firm as a whole, as a result. I am confident Jon's personal passions and interests lie elsewhere and far from the law. This is not the lawyer to choose if you care about your case.
