Timothy J. Jones

Background

Tim Jones has obtained numerous million and multimillion dollar awards on behalf of his clients, including a verdict of $11.6 million against a shipping company and Chevron Oil when an improperly placed mooring line broke free causing a traumatic brain injury to young maritime engineer. Tim was also instrumental in a $10 million settlement in a case of medical negligence resulting from inadequate monitoring following a routine surgery, which caused a young man to suffer a life altering brain injury.

Tim has earned Martindale Hubbell's highest rating, AV Preeminent, for legal ethics and ability. The Martindale Hubbell peer review rating system is based upon the confidential opinions of lawyers and judges.

For the past ten years Tim has been selected as one of Oregon's Super Lawyers. Super Lawyers annually recognizes 5% of attorneys based upon independent research, the confidential nomination and evaluations of fellow attorneys.

Tim was selected by his peers for inclusion in the Best Lawyers in America for his work in the area of medical malpractice law.

Tim grew up in Stayton, Oregon. He received his undergraduate degree from Oregon State University and his law degree from Willamette University. He financed his education by working as a laborer in Oregon's farming, construction and timber industries. Tim has been a successful trial lawyer for more than 25 years. He limits his practice to the representation of seriously injured clients and families in cases of wrongful death involving trucking and motor vehicle accidents, construction and worksite injuries, medical malpractice, maritime accidents, dangerous and defective products. Tim has a track record of consistently obtaining outstanding verdicts and settlements on behalf of his clients.

Community Involvement

Tim is a member of the American Association for Justice, the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association, the Multnomah County and Oregon State Bar Associations.

For more than 25 years Tim has worked throughout the city of Portland in a variety of volunteer capacities. He served as the Director of an emergency relief program in inner-city neighborhoods of North and Northeast Portland. He served as a member of the Board of Directors of the St. Mary's Home for Boys, and as a member and Chairman of the school board for All Saints school. He has volunteered extensively in coaching and organizing youth athletics.

Personal Interests

Tim is an avid cyclist and hiker. He has competed in triathlons. He enjoys traveling, paddle boarding and working in his yard, but most importantly, spending time with his wife and three children.
