David Sorek was an excellent lawyer for my divorce. He was patient and skilled at breaking down legal jargon into language I could understand. My situation had the potential to become quite dramatic. I hired David for a contempt case that was filed against me. He had no clue what he was doing. He told me to bring my 9 year old to court with me that he could testify (the issue was involving my son and visitation) and when the judge asked why he was there he lied and told her that my son wanted to ...come so I let him. He didn't admit to his lie until his closing but by then the judge had already formed her opinion of me. The judge stated that she was going to rule against me before hearing any testimony and she did even though I did nothing contemptuous. Also, David asked his girlfriend to come to the hearing without asking me first. He kept looking to her throughout the hearing and even waved a few times. When I asked him who that was he told me that it was his girlfriend and she wanted to see his first trail hearing. This was the first I had heard about his lack of experience, though through his poor performance it was more than obvious to me. Later I found out he was not a family law attorney, he was a wage law attorney- more misrepresentation. After the hearing he gave me a huge bill, quit before any judgments were filed and demanded payment in full immediately. When I confronted him about his excessive unreasonable charges and the major issue of malpractice, he filed for a hearing in fee arbitration, which I won. I would NEVER recommend David Sorek to anyone.
