There was no part of me that ever wanted to meet Jody or Anna. None! As a 20 year marriage was ending I started asking around for names of attorneys. I didn't have a clue where to start. But, there was one firm that came up several times from people I trusted - Stahancyk, Kent and Hook. I consulted with several firms before SKH and saved them for last. The old adage, save the best for last? Ask Jody or Anna their theory on how you capture a monkey. Hilarious and and so wise. It was at that story, I said... Yes, they are the total for me. They KNOW the law. But, more important that that - THEY UNDERSTAND PEOPLE! By the grace of God I didn't need near as much representation as I thought I would. It was peaceful. From the very beginning Anna Friedhoff spoke candidly and truthfully with me. There were several times she needed to remind that I hired her because she is the professional. I am a strong woman and wanted to run the show. Oopsy! She gently but firmly guided me through it. When it became apparent the divorce was going to be amicable she saved me tens of thousand of dollars in fees. I bullet pointed out what I need/wanted. She drafted, we went back and forth with a few revisions. I even received a refund on my retainer fee!!! I hesitate to mention the swiftness of my divorce as I am fully aware it is not a normal pace. I met Anna Friedhoff on a Wednesday, she had the petition filed by that Friday, September 10th and Clackamas county judge signed our divorce decree October 19th. Yes, I was divorced in 6 weeks. You are in good and caring hands with this firm.

Anna first joined Stahancyk, Kent & Hook as a law clerk in the summer of 2012. Before working at Stahancyk, Anna interned at the Multnomah County District Attorney's office in the Neighborhood Unit. She spent time in each neighborhood sector working with DAs on issues ranging from gang violence to TriMet violations.

While at Oregon Law, Anna served on the leadership for the Moot Court Board and held the position of Senior Editor on the Oregon Review of International Law. She spent her last semester in law school as a client advocate in the Domestic Violence Clinic. She represented victims of abuse and made court appearances in Lane County Circuit Court.

Prior to law school, Anna interned in the public sector and for local non-profit organizations. She spent a semester working for Senator Ron Wyden in Washington, DC, a summer at the Democratic Party of Oregon, and another summer with Focus the Nation.

Anna is a native Portlander and a parishioner at St. Mary's Cathedral in downtown. She also stays involved with the mentorship program at St. Mary's Academy. In the fall of 2012, Anna volunteered with the Portia Project by helping female inmates at Coffee Creek Correctional Facility complete their divorce paperwork. During her second year in law school, she volunteered as a community mediator in Lane County Circuit Court. Anna is currently a member of the Gonzaga University Young Alumni President's Council.

BEST ATTORNEY ON EARTH!!!!

I’m giving Anna Friedhoff 5 stars as a divorce attorney, only because I can’t give 6 stars. Anna is the best attorney in Oregon, and if you’re in the unfortunate position of divorce, she needs to be your first and only call. Anna is an absolute MONSTER of an attorney. She is brilliant, passionate, aggressive, and an all around badass. If anything else, simply hire her to ensure she’s never looking at you from the other side of the courtroom. I promise you, the last name you want to see on the opposing counsel team is Anna Friedhoff. While we dealt with Covid, and unexpected delays, Anna never took her eyes off the prize. She fought for me and she won every single motion we entered into. Hiring Anna Friedhoff as my divorce attorney was the best decision I’ve ever made in my life. If you are reading this review PLEASE do yourself a favor, stop immediately, pick up the phone and call her. Anna Friedhoff = WIN

Anna Review

I highly recommend Anna Friedhoff as a family lawyer. Anna was recommended to me by another lawyer and I’m very thankful I was. Divorce is never an easy or desirable thing, but she guided me through the process very well. She listened to my wants and needs and worked hard at getting them. Because she was a consummate professional and truly listened to my story she was able to help me get what, not only I needed, but what was best for my children. I know Anna was very busy with other cases, but she was always very quick to reply to emails, phone calls, texts, etc, and treated me like I was her only client. I truly appreciate Anna and her hard work and without hesitation recommend her.

This is THE Lawyer!

Anna was thorough with every issue and aspect of the process. She was one hundred percent Professional and protective of all sensitive issues. Not that I ever want to go through divorce again, but if I had to I would be back with Anna! She and her team worked with me and my needs and made adjustments I needed to get through the process. I had a very difficult divorce and Anna was with me every step of the way. She did an excellent job of educating me on the process and covering all possibilities. I one hundred percent recommend using her. Not all issues are cut and dry. Anna was excellent navigating the individual aspects of my divorce and personal addressing my needs . Hardest working Lawyer in Portland!

I first met Anna after a year of going through a divorce and not seeing my children. She was absolutely amazing on every level. I loved her communication methods. Going through a divorce is traumatizing and nothing is better than asking your attorney a question and having them get right back to you with thorough thought out answers. Anna absolutely went to war for me from day one and is a phenomenal lawyer. I give her my highest recommendation and you should definitely speak with her before deciding on who to trust your future to.

I love Anna

I was referred to Anna's firm by several friends, all of whom had excellent experience with their own lawyers from the same firm. At first I consulted with Anna; however, as my divorce dragged on, and on, and on, t became clear that I needed someone on my team who could help me effecting expedite the process, and protect me. My divorce was high-conflict, and Anna helped me successfully navigate some very tricky and uncomfortable situations, including putting a restraining order on my ex to protect myself. She is dependable, and prompt, and highly skilled and I would recommend her to anyone getting divorced, but especially anyone in a high conflict divorce. I am so grateful to Anna Friedhoff.

Outstanding Attorney

I worked with Laurel Hook and Anna Friedhoff at Stahancyk Kent & Hook and was very impressed with their professionalism, insight and skill. Laurel is a partner at the firm and is as high caliber as they come. I was constantly amazed by her level of retention and focus. She’s a busy woman who has heard many stories over the years but was able to remember and engage small details from the earliest stages of my case. She also has keen insight into both the patterns she’s seen before as well as the uniqueness of my specific situation. Diligent, knowledgeable, thorough

Anna did a fantastic job in helping me through a post-divorce matter involving parenting time. She was very thorough throughout the process. She presented me with various options that I could pursue to get justice, and helped me make an informed choice. Dedicated, hard working, conscientious and reasonable rates

I worked with Anna Friedhoff to uphold a contested restraining order. We prevailed in court, a great relief. When I worked with Friedhoff, it was the very first time I had ever worked with a lawyer in any capacity. I had little idea of what to expect. It's strange terrain, nerve wracking and expensive. You want supportive counsel. What I see now, after a year of working with various divorce and other lawyers, is that Friedhoff is very well educated, knows divorce law, and concerns herself with doing a good, methodical and water-tight job. She was relatively new to the profession when we worked together (and I was newer, to my side of the process, as a client). We had one very long day in court--I thought it was possibly longer than necessary, but have since learned to trust a good lawyer (and avoid a bad one). The subject of my restraining order continues to argue and harass me, now that the R.O. has been renewed a year after the initial filing. I appreciate that Anna Friedhoff laid a very clear, solid foundation, taking time with my case. She got it right. That establishes the precedent I continue to work to uphold as I keep the R.O. in place. Working with this lawyer, you will have the advice of her senior colleagues and the dedication of her attention as she builds her career, while paying slightly less than other more established lawyers. I'd say, put your trust in Anna Friedhoff. She will be very careful as she proceeds, and that's a good thing.

Fantastic attorney!

When I needed a divorce attorney, I was referred to SHK by 3 different sources. Each of them said that SKH was the best family law firm in the city. Anna Freidhoff was my attorney. She was wonderful. Throughout my case, she was accessible, extremely professional and she kept everything moving forward despite the difficulties. Anna advocated for me the entire time and made sure that I was protected. Besides being an excellent attorney, Anna is a lovely person who truly cares about your best interest.

Best money spent

Anna was extremely professional. She was quick to respond to any concerns or questions. She gave great advice on how to respond to situations and how to conduct myself in a way legally that would not hurt my case. I would recommend her to anyone that is going through a divorce. Getting the job done!

I initially had a local self-proclaimed "bulldog" handling my divorce who unfortunately was too friendly with the opposing counsel. My case was always pushed forward a few more weeks, and it was challenging to get a hold of him. I explored switching attorneys and was pointed in Anna's direction. From the moment she took my case she handled it with a strong fund of knowledge, true personal understanding (I never felt like mine was just another case), and persistent energy. She is a creative problem solver, assertive when the moment dictates a call for strength , and has an experienced team behind her. My case would not have been finalized with such an acceptable result were it not for all of her diligence. Thank you, Anna, for getting me through this challenging phase on my feet and properly prepared to move forward.

High Marks for Anna Friedhoff

Ms. Friedhoff represeted me with a trying post-divorce matter involving child support and changes to the parenting plan. Originally, I was represented by the law firm's managing partner for my divorce about 6 years ago, and since my current matter isn't too complex in terms of legal issues and since my budget is tight, I was asked if I would be willing to work with an associate instead of one of the main partners. Ms. Friedhoff was hand-selected for me, and she has been superb, patient, and most insightful, as dealings with any ex-spouse and changing legal matters involving a child have been most trying at times. Ms. Friedhoff is easily accessible, along with her paralegals, and she is most prompt when responding, even when my hectic schedule can make it difficult to reach me. I've referred several friends to this law firm, which is tops in the region for divorces, child support and family law matters. I have no hesitation recommending Ms. Friedhoff to my friends, family and professional associates.
