Originally born and raised in Wilmington, Delaware, I moved to Oregon in 2001 after graduating from law school at the University of Arizona. I love Oregon for its beautiful scenery, high quality of life, and commitment to protecting the environment. I have been fortunate to work with many great lawyers since I began practicing law in 2001, and have tried to incorporate their techniques in my own practice.
Having majored in economics at the University of Florida (go Gators!), I am very sensitve to the economic challenges many of my clients face. I thus strive to deliver cost effective legal solutions for my clients. At the end of the day, I want my law firm's clients to feel as though our legal services were a good investment.

Laura Schantz, Divorce and separation Attorney on Mar 14, 2015
Relationship: Opposing Counsel on matter
Grant has been the opposing attorney on several family law cases over the years. He takes a thoughtful approach to his cases and we have been able to reach a settlement every time. Grant has helped find creative solutions to problematic cases. I am also very impressed with his taking on the management of his law firm. The attorneys there appear to be happy so he must be doing something right!
Grant is a solid member of the Washington County legal community. He possesses a broad range of legal skills and is very well-respected.
Peter Tovey, Business Attorney on Mar 12, 2013

Brett Hall, Litigation Attorney on Feb 7, 2013
Relationship: Fellow lawyer in community
I have known Grant for about 10 years. We worked at a mid-sized firm together when I first started practicing. On several occasions Grant would help me negotiate and resolve complex cases with complex clients. I now see Grant in various counties advocating for his clients at a high level. Grant is always professional, always polite, but most importantly; always prepared.
Grant Burton has earned the respect of both clients and colleagues throughout his years practicing law in this community. Whether in managing his firm or working with clients, he is hardworking, reliable and knowledgeable.
James Zwaanstra, Estate planning Attorney on Jun 8, 2012
Relationship: Co-worker
Grant has been part of the Hillsboro, Beaverton and Portland communities for years and has developed a business acumen that I have rarely seen in my 15 years of practice in the same communities. As the managing force behind a number of law firms over the years, and most recently as one of the founding members of the Hillsboro Law Group, he has developed an expertise in the development and management of a law firm that I found so compelling, I decided to join forces with him and his partners at Hillsboro Law Group after 15 years of running a small firm and solo practice of my own. With offices in Hillsboro and Beaverton and a diverse practice including criminal, personal injury, business, estate planning, probate, divorce and family law, Hillsboro Law Group will remain a solid foundation of the community for years to come.
Drew Baumchen, Estate planning Attorney on Feb 8, 2011
