A HISTORY OF SERVICE

A distinguished legal career spanning over three decades places David C. Solinger and Solinger Law in the unique position to be of service to you in resolving conflict. In 1977 David established a suburban Los Angeles law firm catering to the legal needs of clients requiring special expertise in complex legal matters including environmental law and litigation, civil litigation, real estate, insurance, corporations, business and personal injury.

David now devotes a majority of his time mediating and arbitrating civil cases including high profile injury claims due to asbestos exposure such as mesothelioma as  well as consumer fraud claims in the banking industry.

David C Solinger, A Professional Law Corporation handled a significant number of personal injury and property damage cases. Some of the cases handled included catastrophic injuries. Representing the interests of injured parties earned David a great deal of respect among the plaintiff’s and defense bar alike. As a result, a major insurance carrier selected David to serve on its personal injury/property damage arbitration panel. Hundreds of cases were heard by David following his selection by both plaintiff and defense counsel as the agreed upon arbitrator. Demonstrating fairness and an unbiased approach to personal injury arbitration earned David continued respect.

As a mediator David also was involved in the mediation of large health insurance claims. Until 2005, David also served as an arbitrator in the Los Angeles County Superior Court system as well as serving as a Judge Pro Tem in the Los Angeles County Superior Court hearing small claims and civil matters. Currently David serves as a both a privately retained mediator and as a mediator in the Los Angeles County court system. David is also a member of the United States Federal District Court Mediation Panel.

Many personal injury cases contain an insurance component. Delving into insurance related issues led to garnering expertise in the analysis of liability exposure and policy interpretation for policy holders. In some cases, policy holders were exposed to situations where they were either under insured or uninsured for a specific loss. The uncertainty of a client’s insurance gave rise to handling cases to require carriers to honor claims and their contracts with their insured’s.

REAL PROPERTY/CONTRACTS/LEASES

In 1978, David served as In House counsel to a real estate developer and syndicator where he was responsible for handling all legal matters related to over 300 limited partnership properties across the United States.

Clients have been represented on matters before Planning Commissions, City Councils and Board of Supervisor meetings. Clients also requiring expertise in the review, analysis and drafting of contracts, leases and purchase and sale agreements of businesses and real estate are served by the firm. Clients have been represented in the purchase and sales of businesses and real estate totaling tens of millions of dollars in a single transaction. David’s experience in real property resulted in his selection in 1991 to the West Covina Planning Commission where he served for nine years.

SERVICE TO BUSINESS

David also serves as General Counsel to businesses handling all legal matters related to operations, insurance coverage analysis and liability exposure, products liability, real estate sales and acquisition, leases and contracts. Among others, for over 30 years David has represented as General Counsel one of the Nation’s largest manufacturers of transmission parts as well as having served as General Counsel to the owner/operator of over twenty national and regional restaurants.

SERVICE TO THE ENVIRONMENT

It was in 1997 that one of the Solinger firm’s clients was sued by over 2,000 plaintiff’s alleging illness caused by drinking contaminated water. When the client’s insurer’s refused to honor the environmental claims it was then that Solinger Law associated in the firm of Hunsucker Goodstein PC , and after years of litigation achieved a successful result for the client. Hunsucker Goodstein is a well-known boutique environmental litigation firm with offices in multiple states.

Combining the skills of a plaintiff’s lawyer with the expertise developed in the defense of mass toxic tort cases affords David a unique perspective and unparalleled sensitivity in handling matters, injury cases and environmental and toxic tort mediations. David has represented both plaintiff and defendants in complex environmental matters and understands cases from both a plaintiff and defense perspective. He has also litigated mass tort, CERCLA liability, environmental coverage, contribution and indemnity claims.
