Hired for estate planning and to execute a financial transaction. Sue is extremely diligent and responded in a timely manner. I am very pleased with her service and have referred her to friends as well

Neighbor/Tenant Shared Driveway Encroachment Resolved

Our Company seeked legal help on behalf of an owner who's triplex we managed that had a shared driveway. The Neighbor/tenant next door, was using the driveway for their sole use. After some very stern letters to the owner of the property, the problem was resolved and the debri removed.

Efficient, Tough and Attentive

Susan is a DHS contract attorney who accepts referrals to serve as fiduciary for both living clients and deceased clients' estates. I have found her to be professional, highly efficient and attentive to detail and tough, yet compassionate.

"I endorse this lawyer. When I started out as an attorney, Sue was one of my mentors and I worked with her firm for about a year. She is still a friend and someone I can rely on to assist in practice areas that I do not do such as adoption, guardianship and real estate. She has helped me and my firm on many cases over the years. Sue was recently disciplined by the bar for representing two clients who were suing the same debtor. Although she did not think it was a conflict of interest (since one client even referred the other to her) the bar believed there was a conflict of interest and she should not have represented both of them. Since that time, she has learned more about conflicts and is still the caring and exceptional attorney that she has always been. I continue to refer clients to her."

Suspension - Disciplinary issued in OR, 2015

updated on 09/10/2015

This sanction means the attorney lost his or her license to practice law for a period of time. The attorney typically returns to practicing law when the suspension expires.

Susan’s comment:

“In 2009 I was asked to represent 2 clients against a single debtor. One of the clients referred the other to me. I did not see any direct conflict, but the bar later determined that I should not have represented both clients and this resulted in the bar disciplining me in 2015 (even though the incident occurred in 2009). This has been a learning experience. Since then I have taken classes in recognizing client conflict.”

Reprimand issued in OR, 2001

updated on 12/05/2009

This means the lawyer did something wrong but the bar did not suspend the lawyer. Typically in this case the lawyer's poor behavior is exposed to the public in hopes that he or she will not repeat the behavior.
