Fee builder extroidinaire

We used Mary 17 Years ago for a simple real estate contract dispute. We outlined the case for her, all she had to do was write a letter, give our offer, and a week later our lesser offer. For maybe 2 to 3 hours at the most, where we outlined the case, she fee built up to $2,000, lucky for us, she ...had forgotten we had signed and agreed to pay her a $1,000 and the rest she was to collect from the other side. She was maddddd, we beat her at her own game. She said she could not "control" the other side. We specifically stated do not answer emails or calls unless it is yes to our letter. She is out for Mary and not the client, obviously she does not want repeat business. The people giving her good reviews vut not know legal issues and just paid her. She is competent, but will fee build, if you have deep pockets great

Land use, prescriptive easement claim

I cant possibly thank Mary and her team enough for all the effort and knowledge put into defending my property. This case took over 10 months to victoriously resolve in my favor. The law around PRESCRIPTIVE EASEMENT is very complex. Mary did everything she said she would accomplish and more since tak...ing the case, she is likely the most experienced land use lawyer I have ever worked with. She not only loves what she does but she really cares for her client. I found that Mary is very fair and does not run up fees, shows concern for her clients wallet. It's my feeling she put a lot more hours into the case than she charged. I not only trust, but HIGHLY recommend Mary Johnson

Shyster

Going to pick up a lien release from her office that she filed on my property in 2008. I had no idea she filed it. After discussing a squabble I was having with a neighbor over the use of my property for access to multiple dwellings being developed, I was assured from her that the neighbor's lawyer... did not understand property law and we had a slam dunk. $30,000+ and months later she gave me a bill for $8500 for the past month and informed me "our" case was in trouble. I had to hire another attorney to bail me out. She was paid in full anyway in a timely manner after letting her go. Upon trying to get a home equity loan, finding out about the lien, calling and asking her to file a release, I was informed that I would have to go to her office, get the signed release and file it myself. Do not consider her for your attorney.

Relationship: Fellow lawyer in community

"I endorse this lawyer. I have been in the Clackamas County legal community for 26 years and have been impressed with with Mary's extraordinary knowledge of Family, Elder and Real Estate law. Mary is clearly responsive and aggressive in advocating for her clients. She is a resource for me in referring people who have legal issues for which I cannot help. I endorse her without reservation.
