I was in a bind in a divorce matter, and never having hired a lawyer before, did what any child of the internet era would - I went to Google. It was fate (and a little bit of luck) that put me in touch with the McKinley Irvin firm. Jack was recommended to me. I liked that I could look him up o...n the firm's website to see his face and read a little bit about him. From his profile, I thought the firm's recommendation was spot on. I think most people would be a bit nervous when they visit a lawyer for the first time. I certainly was. The office was beautiful, and I might have been intimidated, except that everyone was so very friendly and welcoming! When Jack and I met, my impression was of a sharp young lawyer, but with an engaging way that immediately put me at my ease. It was clear he had spent time familiarizing himself with what I had provided online about my case, so we did not have to take up any of the precious first consultation hour on that topic, and could move right into Q & A and problem solving. He was quick and efficient with his questions without making me feel rushed and made me feel like he cared about doing the right thing for me. After we exchanged questions and answers, it was clear he had some ideas in mind. We moved forward with a plan that ultimately yielded excellent results. Jack was on my case that very afternoon, with documents prepared and sent the next day (would have been the same day if I'd been as swift as he was!). At every step, I felt informed and cared about. Jack responded to my emails within a day (sometimes within hours!), and was always ready with an easy to understand answer to my questions. His staff was equally responsive and helpful. I could not have been happier with my experience and would hire Jack again if I ever find myself in need of competent, compassionate and effective legal counsel.

I am so grateful for Mr. Dekovich's quick and excellent council on a tenant lease addendum he had helped with. During a tricky property sale, he helped us negotiate a lease addendum that benefitted both us as the seller and our awesome tenants. Both his council and legal documents protected both ours...elves as the seller and landlord, and our tenants whom we have had a great relationship. Having that legal protection for both parties was a huge piece of mind. Thank you!

I contacted Jack Dekovich and was able to get a next day consultation. I currently had an attorney, but wanted a second opinion about how my case was being presented in court. Jack listened to my case, took note, ask questions and offered advice about why, my current attorney, was proceeding the way ...he was in court. After talking to Jack, I felt confident that my attorney was taking the correct steps in our child custody case; and he was correct as the judge favored us in this case. Jack seemed very knowledgeable in this area and I felt very comfortable talking with him. I would definitely recommend Mr. Dekovich.

I called several attorneys prior to Landerholm Law, but Jack was the first to respond, and because my FAPA hearing was set for a Thursday morning and I was calling on Tuesday afternoon, I hired him, and I'm so glad I did. We met on Wednesday mid-morning and I felt better immediately after sitting dow...n with Jack, especially when he confirmed my feelings about my husband's state of mind and assured me that I had enough evidence to uphold the FAPA order. I sent him a lot of evidence via email that afternoon, but he managed to get through it all quickly and came to court prepared enough, considering he was expecting to get a set date for a week later, instead of actually trying the case that morning. Because we were denied the set date, Jack had to put together and prepare me for testimony on the fly in the hallway. I think he was even a little nervous at that point, but his confidence in the case was clear and that really kept me feeling at ease and able to get through the hearing feeling assured. I would probably have had a nervous breakdown without him, but instead, it was relatively painless. He was very articulate and professional in court and I felt very comfortable with him as my representative. I can't thank Jack enough and would recommend him to anyone.

Jack is a kind man. Part of the reason we waited so long to bring our concerns to McKinley Irvin was we didn't want Jack to get into trouble. Many of the negatives of this review have more to do with his firm, McKinley-Irvin. They treat their clients like a number. The accounting department made a co...mment to my husband and I that “Men get charged more”. And she wasn’t kidding: we spent over $60k with McKinley-Irvin. That being said, ultimately we hired Jack to represent us. He dropped the ball on several issues that cost my husband and I money in a custody matter with his ex-wife. Additionally, Jack was ill-informed about child support and made several glaring errors that cost my husband time with his children. When we pointed out these numerous and costly errors, it became apparent that the firm just wanted to drop us a quickly as possible. Sometimes we wouldn’t get a response from Jack or Kayla (his paralegal) for a week. I never felt there was oversight (partners working with Jack) or the staff actually cared about our situation. Jack was the exception. I think he truly felt bad for us and recognized he had made some big mistakes.
