Ray Oleson was recommended to me by two other local attorneys as being perhaps THE most knowledgeable Northern California professional they knew of in the area of title insurance law. I recently engaged Ray Oleson to represent me as the plaintiff in a complex real estate partition case that involved the involuntary division of jointly held residential property. The case involved multiple complex legal issues not the least of which included the defendants attorney refusing to step... aside as a result of a conflict of interest. Ray demonstrated he is a very articulate and persuasive attorney as he successfully prevailed in all the major legal issues disputed in the case including the court disqualifying the defendant attorney. My homeowner's insurance claim was denied when I told them I turned off my heat before leaving for Christmas vacation. My attic pipes froze and burst, resulting in my home being flooded for three days. A friend referred me to Ray and within two days, he found the case law that supported my claim and ...communicated with the insurance company. They agreed to pay for the clean-up and repairs. This was a messy case involving asbestos, mold and code upgrades, made more difficult because of weather delays. It took six months to resolve. Throughout the process, Ray represented me and I'm confident that the insurance carrier agreed to most of my requests because of his representation. In addition, the out-of-area water mitigation company was more difficult to deal with than the insurance company. Much of the damage was the result of them pulling their equipment out of my house when the claim was denied, contrary to our contract. Ray proved invaluable in dealing with this issue, as well, gaining complete compliance with that firm. After the contested issues were resolved, he continued to represent me but created a way to keep my costs down to a very minimum. This accident cost about $80,000; hiring Ray Oleson saved me from paying most of that.
