After losing everything we owned when the economy tanked, we were pursued by debt collectors and sued. Never having been sued before, we were afraid they would take what little we had left. We were also embarrassed by our predicament and losses that brought us to this. We knew nothing of fil...ing bankruptcy or if it was even the right option for us. Mr. Ortner and his staff were so reassuring and friendly, and I appreciated the informal atmosphere. They let us know we were not alone, and treated us with utmost respect. With a lawsuit hanging over us, our anxiety level was high. We asked a lot of questions, calling and emailing often to discuss our worries. A special "thank you" to Carolyne, Mr. Ortner's Legal Assistant, for her patience and reassurance. He and his staff were knowledgeable, understanding and always respectful. Throughout the process they told us exactly what would happen and what would or wouldn't affect us. All went exactly as explained, within the time period expected, and they were in touch with us during each phase of the process, making sure we knew what was happening, when and where. We were thankful for a payment plan for his very reasonable fee, that was all inclusive. We are very pleased to have found this office, and grateful for their knowledge, integrity, and guidance. Mr. Ortner was very understanding of my situation. I was feeling very badly about having to file chapter 7.
