Honest and Caring.

He was honest, kind and caring. He was very honest and informative and I would highly recommend contacting him for your family law needs.

Attorney did not give me best advice

I had hired, Ryan to be my attorney for a child custody case. His advice was to rush into the court and file custody actions and to do mediation. Being an out of state situation, I asked him if I should handle it in California or in Texas and he said to do it here and to do it fast. In taking his adv...ice and paying the fees upfront for services that should have been done, some services were done for example filing the paper work and trying to set a mediation date. In this process I was served a subpoena from my ex’s lawyer and had to deal with Texas court. Sacramento judge told me I had to return my child to her mother and to deal with it in Texas. After this, Ryan never refunded any money back for what I felt was services that was never rendered, such as mediation. I took it as a lost and hired another attorney in Texas. He could had adviced me to just handle it in Texas during the consultation. Was a waste of time and money to hire this lawyer. Fighting for my child isn’t easy, but it is worth all the money I put out for him. Having confidence in my lawyer would have made me feel better, but when it felt like money down the drain, this isn’t a good feeling.

Although we handled your case a little over two years ago, I do recall your case very well. I am truly sorry you feel you did not get the best representation or advice. As for filing the California case, you may recall there was a big reason why we filed it, and why we had to move fast. I still stand by that decision and believe it was the best path at the time. I realize the outcome of the litigation was not what you wanted, but I would make all the same decisions over again as I believe we got the best result we could under the circumstances. As for mediation, you may recall that the judge initially ordered it, but eventually vacated it due to the decision made regarding jurisdiction. We appeared at multiple ex parte hearings for you, dropping everything else we had on calendar on those days, and we actually spent substantially more time on your case than was contemplated under our agreement. You may also recall that we spent a great deal of time working with individuals in Texas who were also working very closely with us in your case. I have a lot of experience in cross-jurisdictional cases, and I do stand by the decisions we made in your case, as well as the advice I provided to you. I truly wish things would have turned out like you wanted them to, and I am sorry that we left you feeling as though you did not get what you paid for.
